i always like these shots.
i have always excited abou the feeling that there is a whole city in the water. you can drive bikes or cars in the street.

Hoi Jan,

Een beetje donker bij de boot, maar wat een mooie tekening in het water voor de boot! Heel erg mooie en kleurrijke reflecties hier. Ja, kan me voorstellen dat je dan even in trance staat te kijken. Jammer dat je dan toch weer tot het heden wordt geroepen door de family ;-).

The 'of no interest' places are always the most interesting because no crowds to compete with and it is a 'natural' part of the place. Beautiful light and shadow play gorgeous pov. Beautifully captured. TFs

Aha, you have come up with the perfect excuse to play with your camera - point out a shoe shop to the ladies and then you have some time on your hands just for you and the camera!!

Best places to go! Whenever you are on a main attraction site and you see all the tourists shooting the same thing, it makes you wonder: what's the point? So you go and look for a different angle, or better yet, someplace nobody thinks of going.

Hehehe... nice idea of sending your family to a place of their favorite so that you have a great privacy with your camera... :)

An interesting shot that has a nice lighting and tone intensity. Beautiful perspective too. And, the composition that included the passing by Godola boats in the frame is really a wise decision. Your waiting is truly paid off.

Hello Jan...Oh yes those are the moments when you are dreaming, but not dreaming.. you are taking it all in, feeling the heartbeat of the place.. Im glad you got to go into the backstreets or backcanals as here Jan.. This is seeing the real Venice.. not the shops!..

You have captured it just how it is.. with lots of light and shadows in the narrow canals.. I love the light you have captured here on the left hand side of the building..a fantastic shot. well done, and what a lovely selection of photos you have in your gallery, well done.
