Hello Jan,

I know exactly what you mean by the boys' classic book scene! The swirling mist; then the haunted castle emerges from the murk!
(There is an even more mysterious building peeping out on the left!)

Lovely composition with the horizontal lines of trees showing diminishng colours.
The white borders are a good choice for a misty atmosphere.

Giving up hope and then you get to see this and manage to capture it.

Absolutely the best you could have hoped for - to see castles in the sun I can have a look in trave; brochures, but this is very special - yes fairy-tale quality - dreamy feel with a spooky edge.....

yes it has a mysterious feeling looking at the castle with thick fog.. i imagined count dracula in a place like this long ago.. haha me and my imagination.. a lovely catch, Jan.. excellent view..

Mooi hoor. Bijna ongelofelijk dat dit ook Italie is!! Zou zo denken dat dit ergens in het zuiden van Duitsland is. Die dennebomen, dat slot, de mist. Heel erg mooi!!!
Zelfs de naam is trouwens Duits!

The castle in your shot seems almost unreal, surrounded by fog, it's as if it were a dream, or a hallucination...It gives me a chill down my spine thinking that a werewolf or a vampire is most likely to show up, the setting is just perfect for that to happen. Very well seen and taken! Really a wonderful job!

This is really a very moody image! So evocative and dreamy!

In my experience, poor weather is often pretty good for some interesting photos - in fact, it's just that little strip of "ordinary conditions" which causes the struggle - in landscape photography at least.
Just a glimpse - for the imagination to bite on!

First , I must point out your recent pages of photos are absolutely outstanding in quality. Hats off to your talent to seize those precious moments. To see them is one thing , but to capture them the proper way and present same to us efficiently, is a different ball game. But you play very well this game obviously.

Keep on the good work.

This one is a fine example of what I am precisely talking about. i love the gradient of fog here . The left part of the castle is almost completely hidden here. Great mood.
