Bonjour Joop,
Quelle puissance ce contraste de noir et blanc !
Très bien d'avoir inclus la présence humaine dans ce paysage, on se met vraiment à l'échelle.

What a powerful portrait of this "madam"!

Hi Joop,

When we were there in May 2006 Etna was not smoking yet....
Despite that I must say that I found it pretty impressive to stand on such a mighty volcano. We also visited Stromoli and Vesuvuis that same vacation... Man, you feel sooo tiny when you think of the force and the damage these volcanoes can do.

I think this is really quite a different view of Etna. More fierce and threatening than the view I posted a while ago...

Fun to know that we were there at the same place only a month apart...

This is somewhere I have been twice, and both times it had just erupted. I love the lunar landscape of Etna. The B&W conversion works well and brings out the textures in the ground. I like the vertical framing here as well

Hallo Joop.
Mijn favorite 'wijfie' Madam Etna.
Ik denk dat ik er nu wel 10 keer geweest ben, in alle jaargetijden, zowel aan North als South side.
Jouw foto is mooi speciaal, maar ik zie haar toch liever in full colour, zeker als de lava naar beneden stroomt.
Moet er eigenlijk weer eens naar toe. Dit jaar nog niet geweest, maar dat komt omdat mijn zoon en schoonfamilie hier zijn geweest.
Toch eens kijken of ik een goedkope vlucht kan boeken, hoewel druk met klusjes om mijn huis te verkopen.

Hoi Joop,
Ik zie je "voorbijkomen" en heb weer eens in je portfolio geneust, maar deze heb ik gemist. Een prachtige zwart/wit plaat van de Etna. Mooi contrast en een fijne compositie. Lekkere plaat man!
