Castelluccio è una frazione del comune di Norcia (PG).
Il paese si trova in cima ad una collina che si eleva sull'omonimo altopiano, uno dei più vasti dell'Italia centrale ed inserito nel Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini. L'altezza di 1.452 m s.l.m. ne fa il centro abitato più elevato dell'Appennino Umbro-Marchigiano. Di fronte ad esso si erge imponente la sagoma del Monte Vettore (2.478 m). Il paese si trova a circa 28 km di distanza da Norcia, ed è raggiungibile attraverso una strada panoramica. Secondo i dati Istat del 2001, è abitato da 150 residenti.

Castelluccio is a village in Umbria in the Apennine Mountains, central Italy. It is administrative part of the ca. 28km distant town Norcia. According to the 2001 census, it had c. 150 inhabitants.
The village lies at 1452m, making it the highest settlement in the Apennines. It lies above the "Great Plain" (Piano Grande - 1270m), next to the Monti Sibillini National Park.
Rain and meltwater accumulate on the surface of the plain, which is made of largely impermeable sediments. The greenish ditches drain the water towards openings called Ponors, which are part of the karstic underground drainage system. If the karst drainage is blocked for any reason, water backs up and turns the plain into a temporary lake.

ciao Franco, Castelluccio deve essere uno dei luoghi più postati su TL e devo dire che ha un gran fascino in tutte le stagioni! Belle le linee ondulate delle colline che si sovrappongono e i parapendio colti in diagonale. Mi piacciono anche i colori, molto naturali.

an interesting and beautiful scene.
red and blue parachutes are nice accents for this wide landscape. without those, this village on the hill and yellow field and mountains are wonderful of course.
