the bone and the word, the physical and the intellect... these are days of dichotomy for me, and your image underlines this state of mind of mine.
you gave the composition a strong vertical push, like an attempt to rise from the ordinary to the extraordinary, or from the body to reach the mind...
I think we can find symbols everywhere - we just need to stop every now and then to "see" them. like you do.

WOW Jose...very GOTHIC! Like an old spooky movie! I like how the statue stands out on it's own. But the SHADOW on the wall is the spookiest!! Really works well in this greenish sepia color! Nice work! I'll have something scary for you this weekend!

It's always difficult for me to photograph statues. here you've managed to show the dramatic tension of the character of stone.
Exposure and tones you have chosen well transcribed this little world of stone and brick.
Moreover, there is the reflection of sky in the window that is involved in the strange and magical atmosphere of the scene.

muito bem captada. Gosto muito do b&w, da composição e da luz.

The very first thing that I noticed about your image (without reading the note...I always look at the image first and then I read the note) was the skull and the book and the first thing that came to my mind was (maybe because of the atmosphere this image reflects)...our bodies will not last forever, but our thoughts and works will stay for the next generations, because mind can never vanish.

yes josè, the symbols and teh dichitomy , but also the uplift of the statue's eyes and the upward lift of the perspective of your shot ... the spiritul level that lifts us form earthly worries and consoels us in sadness, but also the upward gklace of hope and exoectation when something new happens. you know these are days of novelty for me and yet the past stays powerfully with me everywhere everyday...
