Il rame è l'elemento chimico di numero atomico 29. Il suo simbolo è Cu .
Con ogni probabilità il rame è il metallo che l'umanità usa da più tempo: sono stati ritrovati oggetti in rame datati 8700 a.C. Gli antichi greci lo chiamavano Chalkos, da cui deriva il prefisso calco- adottato dai mineralogisti e dai chimici moderni per designare alcuni minerali contenenti rame.
Il rame è un metallo rosato o rossastro , di conducibilità elettrica e termica elevatissime, superate solo da quelle dell'argento; è molto resistente alla corrosione e non è magnetico. È facilmente lavorabile, estremamente duttile e malleabile; può essere facilmente riciclato e i suoi rottami hanno un alto valore di recupero........

Very imaginative image of this fantastic copper coil. Fine highlights on the dull surface of the metal; the black background provides a perfect contrast to the color of the coil. DOF is focused sharply on the front parts. Excellent.
