i think it's the deep, "earthy" orange hue that draws me to this photo. there is a lot of detail with not much distraction - to me, this photo is perfect...

tout est parfait: la composition (lignes, courbes), les couleurs (reeles? ca, c'est etonant! je veux moi aussi habiter une maison orange:), les vetements plains d'histoires (chaque robe parle de la fille qui l'habille), la fenetere mi-ouverte (y est-elle la fille qui regarde a celui qui prend la photo?;), tout est plain de feminite a l'extreme...

Magnifique photo, Pierre : bonne composition, superbes couleurs, belle netteté, tout y est... Je n'ai pas le plaisir de connaître Rome, mais des photos comme celle-ci sont une véritable invitation au voyage.

I love the composition of this photo. Especially the well laid out elements - three yellow bits of structure, the arc at the bottom and the marble tile..they complement the disorganised clothes hanging on the rope..

Just beautiful, Pierre. So casual, and yet so interesting! I find the colours lovely, and great composition with the details all around. I feel like a visitor myself looking at your photo, that took a sidestreet and enojoyed seeing some of the 'real' life over there.

As you say, you were limited in terms of composition, and you actually managed to cut practically every element of this photo at the edge: the contours in the facade, the shuttered window, the blue dress and the archway at the bottom. That leaves us with a lot of confusion I find. I tried a different crop in a workshop.

Salut,Pierre! Je n'ai pas lu les autres critiques mais la premiere chose qui me frappe dans cette photo c'est la facon dont les couleurs se decoupent sur le fond brun ocre,particulierement le bleu! Les couleurs sont tout simplement magnifiques et tres "fortes"! Belle composition aussi avec points d'impact! Tres bien reussi comme photo! Bravo! Michel

I absolutely love this, Pierre! Just exactly the way it is! You've got the primary colors, black and white, a sense of wind and movement, and a fantastic compo with just the barest snippet of "incidentals" along all four borders. I even love the font on the sign! How do you do this? Just....wow.

errr... Pierre ... I don't really think that Joan Baez had this motive on her mind when she composed Blowing in the wind ... :))

I like the harmonious mix of static geometry of shapes on the left against the vivacious colours of clothes.

And again that small window on top, I love that small charming detail of domestic intimacy.
