Hello.
This photo was taken in Florence at "Galleria dell'Accademia".It is the original version of Michelangelo's David.
This statue was finished by Michelangelo Buonarroti in 1504 after 3 years of work and it's a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture and one of Michelangelo's two greatest works of sculpture. David portrays the Biblical David at the moment that he decides to engage Goliath. This 5.17 meter (17 ft) marble statue was commissioned as a symbol of the Florentine Republic. The completed sculpture was unveiled on September 8, 1504...so last year, when I visited it was the 500 anniversary.

The photo is noisy because I had to "steal" it!
It was absolutely forbidden taking photos and I had to make several attempts with the SELF-TIMER with the camera still around my neck!
I posted the photo i started from.
In PP...cropping,resize,contrast,light,sepia,sharpness,frame,font.

Bye Bye Francesco

Hi Francesco,
You "stole" a masterpiece here!! you have many beautiful images in your gallery, but this one I noticed first. Maybe it's because I love art, maybe it's because Michelangelo happens to be my favourite artist and maybe because it's a combination of many reasons. Yes, I noticed the noise, but who cares when one looks at such a great work of art.

Very Well Done!!!

Shelly:)

Mille GRAZIE, Francesco! Great "journalistic"... or "paparazzi" (?) work! :))) It was funny about the self-timer and you still have a great light, composition and POV! :) I love the framing and the inscription.
