[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Some of you wondered what I was so engrossed with on Suzanne's post of yesterday. Well, here's the fellow I was trying to shoot! If someone knows its name, please share with me. It is about 4 cm long and like to pose for dedicated photographers!

PP Notes:
- Full frame;
- Slight Curves adjustment;
- Re-sized for TL.

Enjoy!

Salut Pierre,
Luc

This is an interesting supplement to Suzanne's picture, Pierre. Judging from the hind legs, it's definitely a grasshopper. Which kind I'm afraid I can't tell you. But it sure is a lovely model. He seems to be missing one antenna. I like the nice colour saturation here, and the excellent contrast between the grasshopper and the brown/beige stones from the wall you were "resting" on.
TFS, and enjoy the new lens.

Worth the trouble and discomfort.
It seems that I cannot spread the word about PhotoFiltre fast enough or wide enough.
I took this image into PF and clicked sharpen twice. The difference is clear to see. Well worth importing PF if you have not already done so.
I have a WS, where I also cropped it a little, but I also have a back log. What would you like?

I liked the clarity and DOF. Would have loved it if the angle could be at this guys level. I am sure it must be difficult.
BTW, my teachers tried teaching me entomology but...my guess is as good as yours. ;)

I have no idea what the name of this "beast" is, looks like some sort of a grasshopper but not sure what kind. Very interesting insect. No wonder you were so preoccupied with this shot. :)

Katya

So this is it Pierre? A beautiful little creature and well worth the stretch over the wall. The greens are very bold and beautiful. Dof is good and the textures on the surface are great!

Thanks!
Kevin

Oh, so glad you were pressured into posting your bug shot. Afterall, Suzanne went to a lot of trouble to capture you hanging over the wall. This is a great macro shot, and well worth the great effort to capture it. It looks like a hopper of some kind, but not sure of the name. Maybe a species of grasshopper. The macro is good, and full of details. Nice shot.

beautiful cricket- what species is it. Looks like one of the bush crickets we get in the uk. Like the colour but would have preferred it siting on a leaf. The concrete or stone doesnt do it for me!

Amazing encounter,Pierre.
Well caught and well presented.
You just look him in the eye.
He can strike with the antenna anytime.
Great colours.
Groet,
Joop.

Beau travail! Annie

WOW Pierre,
A cracking macro. He's staring at us!

Excellent sharpness and detail on the head of the grasshopper, too bad you could not have eaked out a little more depth of field, seems hard to do when shooting Macro. Amazing to catch that good a shot of what is normally a somewhat shy type of insect. TFS.

Impressive color here! I like how it's sharp!
It's a great POV too!

Yes, now everything is clear, after i saw Suzanne's shot.
Perhaps you understand this little insect's feelings :) Maybe it says "Do i look funny why he's taking my pic?"
Very sharp one, light is great too.. Thanks
Elif

Great macro Pierre, The detail and colour are amazing. TFS

John

Hello Pierre,
I saw this green insect on Suzzane's photo and I did wonder what was the subject of your photography for which you looked so engrossed. So, here's the fella! Great macro and definately worth the effort.

Shelly.

Hi Pierre,
Cool....now it makes sense why you were leaning over a wall. Hmmm...maybe I would've done the same.
Great catch.
Richard

pierre,
great macro with its shadow in the compo and nice DOF.I cannot help u of the name but I must admit it's really an eyecatching one.
regards

What a charming fellow! You caught him very well though Pierre. The colours are great and I am just thankful that he is only a couple of inches in size and not 5 ot 6 feet in length. Yikes! Then I would not like to see him at all. Great capture..TFS

Hi Pierre

Good shot! Excellent dof with superb central sharpness on the cricket. The green color stands out well, against the dull bg, too.

Superbe photo,Pierre! Excellent DOF! Tres bien réealisé comme cliché! Michel

The short depth of field is effective here, drawing the eye to the eye, so to speak! Nice photo.

Great macro with very vivid green colors and good details , it was worth hanging over that wall Pierre !!

amm

i guess this sharp macro was worth hanging on the wall!!! ;-)
