[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
You have to be careful not to miss one step here; otherwise, you may hurt yourself! I shot this on the Capitoline Hill in Rome, while Tintin was shooting her Colours of Rome. I think she got the best picture!

PP Notes:
- Some good cropping;
- Curves adjustment in separate layers, one for the lady, one for the steps;
- USM;
- Re-sized for TL.

Enjoy, and please feel free to leave your comment or critique!

Hello Pierre,
Very confident step across the bold lines, looks very attractive here. I thinks its a great idea.

I like the way the 'lines' of the steps work, the distortion, beyond the obvious, thanx, M, (*_*)

I like the soft yellows contrasting with the shoes / socks Pierre. The composition is excellent too. There's a gentle, classy feel about this photo. Congrats!

WOW, Graphic in best mood! Very great horizontal lines here. Give a fantastic view to the shot, congrats!

Very nice graphicism and very inteligent use of half-figure, keeping the focus ballanced between static stairs and hinted action of walking. Well done.

Hello Pierre.
I like this work of yours!
Great sharpness,details and a wonderful graphical effect!
Didn't you think to post in B/W?
Regards and merry Xmas... Francesco
P.S. I made a WS..temptation of B/W stairs was too strong to me.I hope you like and don't mind.

Excellent shot Pierre! Repetitions are captured in a wonderful way, and that legs are excellent compositional detail.
Great work, one of the best vacational shots from Italy, congratulations!

Robert

ps might be staying a couple of nights in rome any good tips from you to where to stay?

Aaaaarrrggghhh!

Simply beautiful! The person is very careful, and he/she should be. Well shot, great cropping/framing (which one?)

This is another one that makes me think of my own series on Figures in Urban Landscapes. Because that is exactly what this is: A person (even if only partial) in a very typical cityscape. Everything here is manmade, but with lovely traces of the passing of time. I like shots like this.

Great shot, Pierre! I love the graphics of the background. It's just that the light behind the person looks a bit 'unnatural'...i think just a bit of darkening would make it less flat without losing the lines.
Anyhow, great work from you!
regards,
M.

Hi Pierre,
Nice shot! Great composition with this person's legs leading into the frame and down all those steps. So many steps in the foreground...and no flat ground at the end...adds more to the possible slipping...chilling. And another good point, is your timing...with her foot in the air..not yet on the step...so, it leaves the viewer wondering if she slipped or if she made it out okay. All the elements work well together.
Well done!
Richard

très belle prise :o)
j'aime beaucoup la photo :o)
mais tout comme Nina je n'aurais sûrement pas aimé avoir à les descendre ces marches ... surtout en portant des lunettes et non pas mes lentilles ;o)
merci pour le partage

Hello Pierre,

Hi Pierre

It's a wonder no one has complained about the parallax distortion error. I get that all the time, when using a 28 mm lens. This is a very good compromise. The center is perfectly level. Excellent pov & good use of repetition in the compo. Bon Noel!

Excellent composition and crop. I really like the simplicity of the scene.

j'aime bien la simplicité de cette photo... Cela me fait penser à cette fameuse scene du film de Eisensten (le cuirassé Potemkin).
Fred

Your shot clearly tells how we should be careful. Stairs look much more narrow with your angle. And repetition of them is so impressive. Great composition..:)
Elif

The PP you applied gives a strange mood to the lady, she seems peinted...... and I like the final result, with the graphic side so enhanced... also if the stairs seems no PPed at all...
well done

There's a delicious sense of anticipation in this shot. Good title too.

Great composition, lighting and dof.

Super! J'aime beaucoup.
As-tu pensé à "l'essayer" en N/B? Il me semble que le sujet s'y prête bien.

Hello Pierre, beautiful photo. You have done good to include a part of the person. You have given dynamism and you have broken the horizontal lines. Bravo.

Hi Pierre,
Excellent composition, the filling of the frame with stairs suggests and endless flight of stairs which is great.
Thanks,
b.
