I could not stop myself from taking this. So as I was walking along actually carrying two very heavy bags of clay that my wife was very happy to have found near the cliffs behind me. I put these two heavy bags down nonchalantly took my camera from its bag at my hip, as I turned around and then held it while checking the lens angle from above, depressing the shutter release button first down to auto focus and then again to take this shot. My Dad would say "Shot from the hip"

I was under ten metres from these two, but by the look of their pose they would not have noticed had I yelled 'smile'. I know that feeling when energies merge and the world is as nothing to the feeling of togetherness.

Oh to spring, let it move you...

Very little PP work. Cropped a little then did minor image balance adjustments. Had to down quality a little after resizing to get it under 204kb.

this is very moving and powerful Francis.. wow.. such an emotional scene... it seems like it's their last day together and they are holding on for dear life and wishing they could stop time in their embrace... i've certainly been there... i think this is an amazing shot.. it brings tears to my eyes...

i'm so sorry i havent got back to you yet dear Francis.. i've been having a really bad time lately and emotions are getting the better of me... i'm sorry.. i'll reply as soon as i can :-)

Jolie composition.....

This must be a popular spot, judging by the graffitti. It's hard to understand why, though... The wall is cracked, broken and falling down, it seems! But, it does make for a most interesting photo! I wonder why they chose that location? It was available, I guess! Ah, love! :)

Looks like the horizon isn't straight, and I would have liked it cropped a little tighter to emphasize the couple a little more, but it's a very cool image! I'm glad you sneaked a shot for us!

TFS,
Gayle

Hey Francis,

this shot is so powerful and somewhat disturbing. I agree with Ayda on that it seems that they are holding on to each other for dear life. Or perhaps the man has had some really bad news and his lover is comforting him. This is a SPECIAL image indeed.

On the image itself I feel that the canvas needs to be rotated 2-degrees counter-clockwise. Also the image subject really is the emotional outburst from the man and the nuturing of his lover. The shot needs to be focussed on that. This means that to my mind you need a much tighter crop. Obviously as the image on TL is fairly low-resolution I would struggle to do a Workshop on this, but I have don so anyway to show you what I mean.

see workshop...

Take Care

You have captured young love so eloquently. Bravo!!

hi francis,
u captured them very funny, they look like arguing something instead of kissing each other.maybe his car had stayed under that auto garage building before the quake:-)
kind regards

An universal scene cause we can see it on any beach im shure. Only details change :)
But your details are colored! i like the draws we see... It can give them idea to have kids later :)
It's original for the angle of the parking/batiment

... the world is tilted anyway (that's why we have seasons here, on earth). and the spring brings not only love, but summer, too. and not only joyful feelings, it seems...
thanks

Nice work. Clear, sharp - great photo for a 'hip' shot, although I would have corrected the tilt - or gone with the crop suggested, the distant sea and the car above them don't really add to the shot.
The subject is excellent, a good choice to capture this moment - I wouldn't have the courage!
