[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Stalk. A great latvian country friend... so very common here as they spend their spring and summer here in Latvia eating the abundant frogs and snakes in the fields to bring up their young before going back to africa for the winter.

I was taking pictures for a friends farm as they harvested their crop. http://gallery.fotofrancis.lv/francis/lukesfarm/2007harvest_2/

But as the crop is being harvested there came about 12 stalks from around to get the easy pickings from the field when the covering wheat was gone.

Amazing flyers with there very broad wingspan, they scan the fields for the movement of their prey.

Happy spring everyone. Not much PP here, just a little basic edit. Added logo and made small. :)
