| The Trakų Vokė Manor ensemble, a historical architectural monument, exhibits elements of neo-classical, neo-gothic and ecclectic styles. The Trakų Vokė manor house was built between 1876 and 1880 by the marshal of the governor of Vilnius, Jonas Tiškevičius. Building works were headed by the Italian architect L.Marconi. The manor house was restored between 1971 and 1978. Some rich interiors remained, others were recreated during restoration according to the remaining examples. The manor is surrounded by a river bend and a beautiful park designed by the famous french architect Eduard Fransoi Andre. The Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility are the current proprietors of the manor house. Visitors can take excursions, and the premises may be rented. The Vilnius Tourism Information Centre offers a three hour cultural tourism program called “Bajoriška puota Tiškevičių rūmuose” (A Royal Feast in Tiškevičius Manor). |
