It was a girlfriends' weekend trip to Lithunia - Palanga, Klaipeda and Nida. One of the most beautiful trips I had last summer. One of the most important trips for us four - the best friends then (well, unfortunatelly our relationships have changed a bit since that trip)...

Anyhow.. This particular shot was taken Nida, on the Curonioan Spit (a huge strip of sand). When you are there and all around you you see just sand, sand... and if you are lucky to be there on a sunny day with no wind - well, it's like in paradise! And you just want to stay there, lay on the sand and forget about everything!
So we had there a lazy Sunday afternoon... including some sporting activities.. :) And here's the result.

PP:
*using fixed size marquee tool, croped out the same size and more or less perfectly justified (see that willow on the right) photos.
*made a new canvas, placed the five photos on canvas, placed in order using guides to place them perfectly on top of each other,
*copied a background fragment from one of the photos.
*as all five photos were different layers - merged all of them and then adjusted levels so that all photos were the same colour gamma.
*converted both the main photos and background to b&w
* wiht help of guides draw a white framing line using line tool
here you go!

Hi Laine!!!

Excellent presentation, this is soooo cool. I love the way you stacked these on top of each other vs. side by side - the black and white was the right choice toooo!

hi laine,
I like your salto!
it funy and good compo.
have a nice day

Wel seen Laine.
This is a beautiful "film".
It was a good idea to make this serie and the black and white gives the final touch.

Stefan

Very clever montage, Laine! I like the B&W, but I think this is a case where the frame should have been slightly coloured, or vice-versa. Just a personal opinion. Excellent work!

Hi Laine,

Nice compo. Plenty of movement... and very funny. I like it!

A montage of picture full of happiness & fun, Laine. I really like the way you have pick the main picture as a background for your montage and then put the ones with the action on top - very clever & creative. Excellent!

Hi Laine
This is great fun - what a brilliant idea! Did you know you would present it like this when you took the pics or did this idea come later - really clever! Love the black and white too. Have a great weekend!

Hi laine,
I ran into this photo reading critiques written by some other TL member which critiqued this photo - and I don't regret. Very nice piece of reportage, technically and compositionally very, very good. I love your idea of use as the frame the place used to shoot this reportage. Good choice of b&w - lack of colour focuses my attention on the action. tfs

Hi Laine, great idea! I love the progression of the photos... they really tell their own "story." And I especially like the presentation, with the fragment of the photo used as background. Also, good choice of B&W, and good job with controlling the contrast. This is quite an inspiring shot. Thanks for sharing!
Erin
