[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I remember a poster from the 1970s that read "Today is the first day of the rest of your life". This is particularly true of this young lady. She was born ten hours ago and her name is Katerina - and she is our first grandchild. We went to visit her and her proud parents in the birth clinic a few hours ago, and apart from me shooting wildly away with the camera as usual, I remember thinking "Hello there, I am looking forward to getting to know you!"
And I guess that also kinda makes today the first day of the rest of my life. And a good reminder of how important it is to enjoy each single one of them.

Technically this one was cropped, clarified, resized, noise filtered and sharpened. I tried to work on the colour balance, but I feel this is closest to reality, so I left it as it was.

Someone suggested that i convert to black and white which I must admit I hadn't thought of. So I did and posted the result as workshop. Now I don't know which of the two versions I prefer. I guess I can ask my son and daugther-in-law. The parents are sure to have an opinion.

First of all, congratulations on your first grand-child and do spoil her as that is the role of grand-parents. Very nice picture of this newborn little girl and one to cherish for years to come. I am like you and don't know which one I prefer more between the colour & B&W version; maybe both are as good. Well done and enjoy!

Congratulations, Per! Beautiful little girl, and by the time you read this, she'll be one day old! I do prefer the colour version, BTW, even though it is not perfect, that what hospital light will do to you!

CONGRATULATIONS, isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful...welcome Katerina, I'm sure we'll see much more of you, thanx, M, (*_*)

doh...out of points...

Congratulations Per and to your wife. Your first grandchild, what a lovely experience. Katerina is beautiful. I prefer the coloured version. Very nice close up of her. Hope you will keep us up to date on her growing up.

Congratulations Per! You are so right, I was thinking the exact same thing when my son was born and I'm thinking it still. I am so curiuous about the future, things he, we will do, all the joy we will have together. Life can be so joyfull, a small child seems to make that even easier to remind us of. Your photo is almost like a photo we have of our son with the needed PP to get it right.
Lots of joy and peace, hmmm, I know you can show her just that! Have fun Per, but be quick, time will be running like crazy, in a -very- short moment tomorrow will be totally different from yesterday, and you know we are so lucky we have, today. See you again, Richard

Hi Per,

Congratulations on your first graddaughter! She looks so cute! I certainly prefer the coloured version. It's sweeter and softer for an innocent creature as this lovely baby. :)
We're expecting more photos of her. :)
Well done and TFS!

Welcome to the club Per, I joined last August, you will certainly have your hands full now. All the best.
