| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
It has been so long since I uploaded a photo for this series that I had to check the theme group (please have a look) for the number. For those who have not come across it before the rules are simple: 1. The photo must be taken outside, inside a city, 2. It must contain at least one person, 3. It should contain some "noise" and I usually add 12% of gaussian noise to create a "city feeling". This photo was an obvious candidate, Having been taken on a wet and grey October morning and showing the approximate proportion of pedestrians to cars on many streets these days.
Technically I clarified and saturated slightly before resizing. After that I adjusted the colour balance a bit and sharpened before adding the noise. |

i think the noise fits with this photo nicely. the photo has a nice and natural representation of the cityscape.
well done
Hi Per, glad to see you're back ! Fits your theme perfectly, typical city scene of this drab winter.

Ah - the return of FIUL. And the urban notes too. You're right Per, we live in a society where people take their car to go to the newspaper store 200 yards down their street... though I think it's getting better lately... perhaps the gasoline prices have something to do with that...
A nice addition to your theme. But hey, next time: show us that lady up front, will you ? LOL.

First I thought it to be nothing special, but then it started to grow on me. It's mundane, but I like what the image indirectly conveys: cars become more and more the entities that make up a city, at the expense of the people, like this lonely woman, seemingly the last one of its kind. And yes, great idea to add the noise.

I remember your Theme well. This has a good composition, and I like the effect from the car headlights on the wet road surface. Well done Per.

Well composed picture and the added noise contributes nicely to the athmosphere. Well done!
