I do like these animals even though they can do a lot of damage, this is a wonderful shot with such detail and great use of natural light Carole.

Bonjour Carole,
Bien cordialement

Excellent light and great pose in this shot, not to mention the beautiful subject. I think you could have left less space in the back and more in the front of your subject. I found that f/1.8 gives a very shallow depth of field at 50 mm, and wish you would had used a narrower aperture here, maybe f/4 for better sharpness throughout.

Hi Carole,
You have captured the beauty of this fox really well, great colour and lighting and a good sharpness around the eye, the only thing I find a little distracting are the two out of focus lines on the left of the head, but thats only a minor issue, I have done a quick workshop to move the lines, hope you like it.
Well done
Regards Andy

Hi Carole,
What an excellent picture of this fox, good details and DOF and very nice clear capture of his eyes, which is always very important to feel as if we are seeing him as if he is real.
Wonderful and intelligent expression on his face.

Bonjour Carole

Merci!

Hello Carole sorry not been here for a bit and have missed some nice photos, I think you got a great portrait here the light was lovely the shallow dof at f1.8 is a nice choice I have the same lens too I find if you try f2.0 or maybe a touch more it will increase the sharpness much more. my best rgds Necip.

The animal is beautiful Too bad about it being captive...such is life...I was looking at news on Serbia....captive mentally ill patients...I guess at least in your case thee fox is being well cared for..Very good.

hello carole :)
i think that of all your animal photos, especially the recent ones, i like the ones with the fox the most :)
to begin with, its the fox itself that holds our attention and keeps our eyes locked on to it..
secondly, i think its the very look of this photo that makes it different, better and special in comparison to the other ones... that look consists of the subtle, national geographic-like grain, the excellent light and the blur of course :)
i could use this photo to bolster support for higher ISO such as 800 :) i mean not only are those ISOs useful, they also lend a lot of 'character' and 'mood' to an image :)
thank you for sharing it :) and i must praise you for this work :) i wish this photo belonged to me :)
take care and have a wonderful day :)

Hi Carole,
This is certainly a beautiful portrait of the sly old fox. The lighting here is super super nice. I like your choice of aperature. I have the same lens (I think, if not, very similiar) and it's an amazing little lens. Curious if you ran this through a noise removal program...as it looks awesome for 800 iso. Very nice shot Carole...a true winner.
