IMHO I don't think this shot works so well. Maybe it's just me, but I genuinely think the focal point is not the rooster - but a metre or two beyond it!

I can see that the grass behind the rooster is very sharp in detail, but its feathers, beak and eye appear slightly blurred.

Perhaps I'm wrong.
