The railings are on top of the sea defence next to the Heliport in Monaco. I blurred the edges of the photo slightly to try to make the steel railings seem harder. I like the crack in the concrete, it just adds a little interest I think.
You can just see the reflection of the moonlight on the Mediterranean Sea between the railings on the left.
The picture was taken at about 11pm. The main light came from spotlights across the promenade which were pointed at the railings.
I didn't have my tripod with me so I used a convenient concrete step and improvised a rest for my camera using my bag. |

excellent quality and the choice of black and white made it a work of art with a dramatic sense. u have seen well, with the light and shadow play.

Great contrast here; this definitely lends itself well to the black and white medium. The blur effect is a nice touch to keep the emphasis on the highlighted area of the railings. Great composition; the eyes are led right where you want them to go.
