A phascinating combination of the metallic-coloured feather and the drops, I love it.
Drops are always interesting, I also like to make shots of it, also have some here today.
Excellent work with good sharpness and nice light, thanks and bye

absolutely amazing! the color is reflected so well in the individual droplets. i think the dof is great too! a good compliment - not distracting.

Hi Merel,

Très belle photographie. Le rendu des gouttes et la texture de la plume sont super bien rendus ! Bravo !

Cordialement,
François

A very creative subject for your first macro. Depth of field could be a bit better -- only a couple of the drops look in really sharp focus. I would especially like to see sharp focus that large drop that is refracting light across the feather. When drops show reflected as well as refracted light, plus the beautiful colors glowing through them from the background, they look just like polished gems.

Hello Merel... ı do like the sharpness and the saturation of your composition... Details are great...

Can

Great picture. Good saturation and colours. The droplest change the colour. I would like to see the heart of the feather sharp, in stead of the part in front of the heart. Is the frame on purpose?

Hoi Merel,
Origineel.
Groeten en succes verder, Harry.

A beauty. A peacock feather is such a thing of beauty anyway but you have chosen a very different way of presenting it that already scores high. The addition of some water droplets lifts it even higher and your clarity elevates it into the top level.
Bad news, though ...
The addition of the two white bands top and bottom ... not a good idea. Such irridescence and depth of colour needs to be diplayed to advantage. To boost the content to our eyes by utilising a darker field of display, especially on a PC screen. Try this for yourself. Take this image, less the white bands, and surround it with as large an area of solid black frame as you can. Tell me that the image doesn't jump a level or two and I'll eat my hat.
Aside from that small consideration, a well-earned medal.
