History

1996 Starts riding Pocketbikes at the incredible age of 4.

1998 - 1999 Wins his first 2 Pocketbike titles in Japan.

2000 Takaaki wins another Japanese Pocketbike Championship, this time in the Class 2 category. Also, wins the Life Series Cup (Class 2) by the end of the year.

2001 Steps up to compete in the Japanese Minimoto Series. Becomes the youngest contester ever to win a Minimoto championship in Japan, at the age of 9.

2002 Keeps competing in minimoto competitions with great success. Wins almost every race he competes in and sets no less than 6 track records along the way (in minibikes).

2003 Becomes National champion in Minimoto.

2004 Steps into the Road Racing Championship, at the 125cc class. Also, wins 8 races inside the SUGO 8 Championship Series.

2005 Wins the East Road-Racing Championship and becomes the youngest contester to start a race inside the All Japan Road-Race Championship. Also, receives the 'MFJ Rookie of the Year' award at the end of the season.

2006 Becomes the youngest rider ever to win the Japanese Road Racing Championship, at the age of 14. Also, competes in the Spanish 125cc Championship and ranks 12th in his debut season.

2007 Improves to 6th overall in the Spanish 125cc Championship (one podium - 3rd place in Valencia) and makes debut inside the FIM 125cc World Championship at Valencia, season's last round. Fails to finish the race, though.

2008 Scores 12 points in his first full-time season inside the 125cc FIM World Championship, riding for I.C. Team. Makes the scoreboard 3 times in 17 starts and highlights an 8th place at Donington Park. Ends the season as the 24th best rider in the series.
