Wow Hans, now that's some kind of detail, and it is definitely keeping its eye on you. Great detail in the texture of the feathers, the skin around its eye, and that huge bill. I like the one little drop of water on its ... forehead!

Superb close-up!
I like the way you use the beak for a diagonal composition!
Very beautiful deep blue on the background enhancing the iridescent whiteness of the plumage. Just a little nit pick about the eye. It is a little too dark. I propose you a WS.

Extraordinary close up of this pelican. Great light, wonderful textures, incredible detail. I love the drop of water on the feather of his face and the tiny bit of light caught in the eye. I am sooooo envious. I want a D300 so badly..:))) Very nicely done!! Many thanks and kindest wishes,

Hi Hans,

Not sure why you would think someone would “shoot?” My eyes aren’t that great, but I can’t see any graininess due to the higher ISO. This is a very nice close-up of the pelican. The drop of water on the feather above the beak really stands out. Very sharp and colorful, the new toy looks like it’s in the right hands.

Hoi Hans.
Je bent de laatste vandaag. Morgen rij ik langs Emmen, misschien als ik zondag tijd heb ga ik er ook weer eens kijken. Is alweer 12 jaar geleden toen ik daar een groot project had.
Prachtige close up, verwonder mij over je iso setting.!!!
Maar het resultaat mag er zeker zijn.!
Komt in ieder geval de handscherpte ten goede.
