Full House

Indeed a “Full House” on this dandelion, I’m counting ten insects! So this must be a tasty one. Anyway an experiment of the Baron to make a macro picture. Used my 70-300mm macro zoom lens and took several shots and to be honest it isn’t that easy, particular when not using a tripod and maybe even more important having a lack of experience. Well let me know your opinion and tell me how to improve.

This particular picture I took at the photo shoot together with Ilona [Loon]. She gave me some useful tips!

PP-work:
Add a small green area on the bottom (the flower was otherwise too tight cropped) Increased brightness, contrast and saturation. Adjusted levels, cropped, sharpenend add frame and text. Resized for TL.

I used to use sigma 70-300mm also and i know that its hard to get a good clear shot of a macro though it is has a macro mode. because the f is unable to get more detail. but you have a great details here. TFS

C'est la fin pour eux et ils l esavent donc faut en profiter. Bien saisi ,belles couleurs.. Réal

Hi Hans,
Very good and sharp composition . The DOF is just perfect and the colors are contrasting well . I think you did a good job even if it is whithout your tripod .
Daniel

A really nice shot here Hans....the bees are SO sharp!! I just purchased last night a Sigma DG APO 70-200mm 2.8 lens...I can't wait to get it....And YES it's VERY hard to get a shot like this! My best success is to back off maybe back to 280mm.....or even more...because the DOF becomes more shallow and easier to work with. Still, it's an exceptional shot my Hansie!
Calamity

I agree that it's an overload! I could give the allusion dandelion are rare this time and insect love the taste of it!
When we start to observ the world of insect, we see how they are legion! small but legion :)
Very well captured! I enjoy that game of yellow/green!

Even more than full!!! very nice observation as well as close-up attractive - well done:)

Hi Hans,
This is not bad with a 70-300 though it is only the center that is clear. The colors are nice and nicely framed. I like the title, it fits. TFS

Very full house Hans - and all the insects all look happy and not fighting for the best position...
70-300 lens - takes a bit of getting used to - and having to stand back - but good results here. I think CANON would look better(!!!) Just teasing... It looks good.
Cheers

Delicada imagen con unos detalles soberbios.
Buen encuadre y nota.
Saludos amigo Hans, JL.

Nice shot.
Good colours, DOF, sharpness and detail on the insects.
I might only try to add more contrast/brightness to the yellow colours here.

Tom

Thank God we have still a number of good photographers in Holland ,
those who realy bring our national standard on a higher scale !
Welldone Hans!
You are one of my examples, while other fellow Dutch pretend to know it all and bring poor quality.
This is crisp and sharp!

Another fine example of the less-is-more touch working so very well, Hans. A "full house" indeed. Nice work filling the frame and keeping the focus sharp where the critters are. A pleasing macro, well-framed.
