[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo as part of an assignment about Arnhem, for my university. I'm not an experienced photographer, and have the misfortune to be able to use only one hand.

The composition of the photo could have been better (the original was a wider image, which looked better, but the filesize was huge). Still, I like the strong contrast between new and old, and I love how the colours are very true to how I saw them that day.

Added slight contrast, but no strong editing in this one.

Hoi Maartje,
Welkom bij TL!
In my opinion this is a fine composition. The contrast you captured is excelent. I'm sorry to know you can only use one hand, so it make the posting even more impressive to me. Regarding the size, try to upload to the maximum (800 pix) so your presentation of this image would even be more impressive!
Great first posting though!
Hans

Hello Maartje

A very warm welcome to TL. I think your first posting is of fine compostion. You handled the lighting very well and the colour is also good. I agree the contrast in ages of the buildings here makes for a fine view. There are many products available to assist you in editing the file of your image. Personally I use a programme called Photofiltre which is freely availble and very simple to use. I see you mention you have the use of only one hand..try to search out something stable to rest the camera on. maybe a fence or gatepost.. the side of a building.. or even sometimes to put your backpack on the floor and rest on that will help too. Another option (if its not raining) would be to sit on the ground and rest the camera on your knees.

I look forward to seeing more of your work and do feel free to ask for any help or advice you require.. there are many members here with wonderful talent who are more than ready to advise and assist.

TFS kind regards Helen
