[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yesterday we went to Brummen. We made several pictures of the shining dew on the grasslands in contralight.
I did some little PP; slight crop, placed a second cow on distance for the balance and an artificial DOF.
A bit too much unsharping (USM) shows the heavy low sunshining as it was over there.

Lovely, Huub ! Great cow pic !

Marleen
sorry no more greens

Hi Huub,
Interesting cow portrait! Maybe a tad too dark, I'd really like to get a better view of her eyes... The backlight makes the leaves stand out in a pleasant way, and the final touch is to include the cow in the back!

te veel informatie ala * de ogen dwalen zo af *
Nee hoor, lekker zo laten

Hi, Huub. I like this image - tells me a lot about the morning sunrise, the crispness in the air, the smell of fresh dew on the land. The Natural frame created by the translucent leaves infront is a winner!

Two things that worry me - a littlebit of fill lighting on the closeby cow would have been great (I tried to tweak it in PS, but there is not enough fill light to show the eyes) and then my main concern - the area of the furthest cow is very bright and distracting - creates too much competition between the foreground and background items.

Don't look at me!
I can't see your eyes..
;o)

Huub,

I always love cow shots. The composition is very good, and the idea of putting another cow in the distance was a good idea and made me smile. Backlit subjects are always difficult. In situations like this, the flash can come in handy. I did a workshop to put some light on this nice cow.

Ha, pretty cow. Great shot, kinda funny.

Koffie!
De melk staat klaar.
Huub een fraaie weergave van ''Us Mem' zoals de Friezen haar noemen ( in Leeuwarden standbeels)
Verfrissend .. een ander onderwerp
Groet
John

Hi Huub,
What a special picture is this. You were able to created two times a focus point. Thge leaves at the front and the cow at the back.I am not sure if the litle cow needs to be sharp.

Any way it is a good and interesting shot.

Hendrik

This shot has a great concept. The best point is where the backlight turns to the front, and the cow in the far is like a painting, while the front is full with macro-type details. I also like the balance, how you kept the carachter of the front cow in the "bad" lightinting conditions. Excellent, Huub!
Cheers,
Marcie
