Easter fire 3
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The second picture of the centre of a so called easter fire.
It is lit during Easter (Pasen) in the eastern region of the Netherlands. The fire is built out of branches and trees, which are removed during winter and before spring. The height can be up to 15 meters. On top a barrel, filled with oil, is placed. When the fire is ok, it will ignite the barrel in the end. These easter fires are common use for hundreds of years already, celebrating the spring season and thanking the gods that winter is over. |

Very interesting "texture" and lighting you achieved in this shot Willem. It's almost surreal.
Nice shot !
Mooie foto, geeft zeer goed de hitte en het geweld van een paasvuur weer. Goede note, alleen dat van die olievat ken ik niet maar dat kan de streek zijn.
I haven't realy seen much pictures about fire, but this looks great. I also like those red/violet litle glowing branches and blue looking smoke.
