A photographer’s block? ...a gorgeous place!

Ever heard of a “photographer’s block”? Well I’ve got one today. Could not decide which picture to post, (almost) nothing was found attractive enough while I can chose out of thousands of pictures. Do I have only poor images left? Or is it my mood? Anyway chose this one...

Summer in April. Here in Holland summer has arrived early. The temperatures are well above the normal temperature for this year. It reminds me at three years ago, a week in May when I was in Enschede, and visited the Arboretum in De Lutte. This place would definitely help me to remove the blockage :)

PP-talk: Increased slightly the saturation, cropped, framed and add text.

I’ve got a writer’s block as well, no extended note today….. Sorry folks, I take a break! Hopefully this impasse is temporarily.

Writer’s block

Writer's block is a phenomenon involving temporary loss of ability to continue writing, usually due to lack of inspiration or creativity.
Writer's block can be closely related to depression and anxiety, two disorders that reflect environmentally-caused or spontaneous changes in the brain's frontal lobe. This is in contrast to hypergraphia, more closely linked to mania, in which the changes occur primarily in the temporal lobe. These processes, and their implications for treatment, are described in neurologist Alice Flaherty's book The Midnight Disease. However, another interpretation of writer's block, sometimes confused with scant output, is given in the book Silences, by Tillie Olsen, who argues that historically many women and working-class writers have been unable to devote themselves to, or concentrate on, their writing because their social and economic circumstances prevent them from doing so. It is widely thought that writer's block is part of a natural ebb and flow in the creative process. Author Justina Headley explains in keynote speeches that for her it comes from losing touch with the characters about whom she is writing; and that by discovering who they are again, the block disintegrates.
There have been cases where writer's block has lasted for years or decades. The most notable example of this in modern literary history was Henry Roth's writer's block which persisted for sixty years and was caused by a combination of depression, political problems, and an unwillingness to confront past problems. This kind of writer's block seems to be quite rare, and most writer's block lasts between an hour and a week, sometimes over a month.[citation needed] Writer's block has caused problems for writers using the serial form, such as Stephen King's The Green Mile or Bag of Bones.
Some authorities[citation needed]have recommended the following to those suffering from writer's block:
• Setting a time and write whatever comes to mind, without stopping, for that time.
• Using writers' exercises such as "chunking". They use many websites that contain numerous creative writing exercises. Writers read an exercise, and do it.
• Taking a break, meditating, or doing relaxation exercises to relieve any pressure on oneself and on the writing.
• Doing something out of the ordinary. If writer's block comes from a lack of new ideas, attempts to spark creativity by going somewhere new or doing something different can be useful.
• Returning to the writing after a lapse of a day or two.
• Write a basic plot outline of the story, if having problems keeping the story on the rails.
• Write or type out a complete short story by one's favorite author. By the end of ten to twenty pages, the mind is properly engaged to again be creative.
• Brainstorming at the beginning of the writing can help the writer by relating every point to another.
• Reading, watching movies or plays, or similar activities that might bring inspiration.
• If suffering from writer's block, write about an experience of your own or of a person you know. It's not the best strategy, but it will work if all else fails.

Simple and nice compo. I like the small, red-roofed house and the green landscape.

BaronLens? of.. GreenLens? of misschien wel... SpruijtLens??

Mooi plaatje!

I can't believe the lush vegetation you have: you guys are truly blessed with a wonderful season. We've been fighting foul weather until now. Greening just started a couple of days ago, and I was so excited yesterday when a harbinger of spring - a little blue flower that returns every year (I don't know what it is) - showed up in my yard again. So you have Summer in April, whereas we sometimes have Winter in July!
Cheers
Otto

Sooner or later everybody has to suffer from the infamous "block". Don't worry, it will pass.

Your shed looks nice and peacefull. At this moment I'd give and arm and a leg to be there. Just me, the sun, the quiet and my camera (of course!!).

Hallo Hans.

Beautiful scene! Great that you actually still have choices in your photographers block I am depleted and am working too much to get new ones. Love the simple beauty here, the colors details and framing. TFS

Hi Hans,
WOW! Marvelous place! Your beautiful photo looks like an impressionist painting with the soft green tones in foreground and the interesting play of light on the foliage. Very good range of colors and good composition. Nice frame too! Bravo! Annie

Stunning capture. Beautiful lighting and composition.

TFS,
David

For someone who had the 'block' Hans I think you did very well both with the photo and the notes. A 'block' here is also the allotment of land on which you build your house.I would have this small cottage and its piece of land anytime. Lovely colours, nicely composed and well presented in the square format. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Duck Reach Track II’. I am sorry I can't take credit for the exposure. The day was dull and in cases like this the camera stays on Auto :).

Hi Hans,

It's beautiful image with red roof standing out of green. I like your note, which somehow I have experience several times. Thank you for the last statement of the text, which will definitely remove the block and will re-energize for continuing the process.

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Good morning Hans

I love this capture, nicely framed image with the tree in the foreground, lots of different shades and tones of green and the little building offset to give that added interest.

Lovely framing as ever

TFS regards Helen

Hi Hans,
Heerlijke foto.

I think we ALL have this Hans! I take pics out in the area, then get home and it's not GOOD! I was SOOOO sure that THIS was the one....pfffttt!! Not good! But if I stare at it long enough, I can figure out how to rescue it!
Nice shot, I DO like it...simple...maybe I'll play with it in WS!

Hoi Hans,
Mooie plaat,

Hi Hans. A marvellous interlude to see and read the notes about this problem. The house is well composed and presented. Refreshing work. TFS. Murray.

Hans,
I have had photographers/critiquers block for some time now! I got soured on the hypocrisy of TL...(not you bro) and couldn't understand why I chose to hang around. I think this photo sums up my mood these past few weeks..I relate to it perfectly. I plan to give TL a little more attention for awhile. I really enjoy this little retreat of a cabin....is it for rent?
