[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello again,

This is the first post after a long lyme-time. Last year they found out that I've got the lyme disease. And now, a year later, it's getting a bit better. I am working again for a couple of hours. YES!!

This photo is of my brother Alex. The old building is now re-build for appartments. But it was a great location for making photo's! I wanted to capture a picture of my brother but also the mood of this old building.

For the photo I used some saturation and "High-pass sharpen". I thought it fits the mood here. In a workshop I'll show you the original without the High-pass.

It's good to be back!

I'm glad you're still alive & licking! And I'll bet you are, too! Good upward pov & a nice juxtapositioning of the old & the new... with a twist. Tfs!

Does your brother have an account here on TL? I've seen this photo before, maybe you posted a similar version a while back! I love this shot, excellent POV on this! Love the gritty street style here!

Nice light Janneke, and a well composed shot with the diagonal leading through the image. Quite a dramatic looking shot here.

My main problem here is that his feet look 'cut off'. I know it's not easy in this scene to include them but I do think that it is a little unbalanced because of this.

Hi Janneke,

I'm glad that you're recovering, lyme disease can be devastating. I like the POV in this shot and the location used. I agree with David that it would have been good to include the feet (or maybe just the step where his left foot stands). Nice, effective use of lighting.

First, I'm glad your feeling better. I like this shot because of; the angle, the color saturation and location of this shot are all excellent. I do agree with David about the feet, I wish they could have been included. Anyway, nice shot of your brother.

Aaah mijn aanstaande in zijn jonge jaren! Deze foto heeft steeds achter het klokje bij de tv bij mij gestaan. Vind hem erg mooi!

Great location - good POV and your brother makes a great model. The high pass filter worked well here.

If anything, in PP I might have darkened the overexposed sky visible through the open door at the top of the stairs. Darkness is more exciting and mysterious than light!

welcome back. hope all is well. this is a very striking pose. very good model expression. though i would like to see the feet. the colors are lovely pastel and the textures are a great addition to the over all effect.

Hoi Janneke,

Allereerst fijn om te lezen dat het wat beter met je gaat en weer wat uurtjes kunt werken.

Nu de foto, het is een pracht "gallery image" stoer en perfecte pose met een mooie compositie. Wel jammer dat de voeten er niet geheel opstaan, een geamputeerde Alex isa ook zo wat, daar zit dus een leermomentje :-)
Toch een fijne plaat hoor!
