Taken on vacation in St Maarten a few weeks ago!

One of our day trips was a sailing excursion.
This photo was taken on our way back.
I was told this ruins was once a HUGE hotel/resort that was leveled during a hurricane!

Taken with Noah's Sony -
edit.. small crop
applied a warming filter in photoshop elements

if anyone wants to see what they can do with the original i'm more then happy to send it to see what others can make of it....

Figured I'd better post something quick with all this talk going around about deleting inactive accounts.. yikes...

Hello Tricia,
nevertheless such even if a very beautiful photo became, without each further treatment the clay/tone the colors pleases me is marvelous.
Best regards.
Janusz

Ok, you have successfully motivated me to search the forums about the inactive account thing...

I really like this photo, Tricia. Do you have any to post of closer detail of the ruins, specifically the building?

I am a big fan of abandoned buildings.

Thanks for sharing!
Michael

Hi Tricia,
A sad composition indeed, but this one definitely shows the real power of natura and that how tiny we are on this Earth even if we think we can do anything we want...
Anyway, a fine capture of the drama, good sharpness and saturation of colours. I also like your low POV. TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

hello Tricia,

AH very sad story, sad to know about that huge Hotel being demolished in a mad nature's moment.... I can imagine the beauty of it before the drama.. but you managed nicely to capture its ruins with perfect sharpness and the right atmosphere and colors.. light and POV... superb Tropical ruins presentation and what an a palm tree, a nice addition to the scene...

great show and regards
suzy

Can I live here?? I would be ok! Does it have an internet connection? Can you help me fix the roof? Nice shot Tricia! Looks like you had some fun on your trip! See any Iguanas?
B-)

Hello Tricia

Good graphism of the solitary, angled coconut palm. Excellent sharpness & well composed. The hurricane that destroyed the old resort must have been fierce. Tfs!

i like the earthy tones and the weather savaged feel to this shot, fine details too, cant help too much with PP on this for you (my photoshop skill are weak!)
hope all is well,
thanks,
scott

The resort - ALL gone?? WOW. How sad...
I t is interesting to see the damage that was done here Tricia.
We were on FIJI after a large storm and the buildings were ok, but the coral was so damaged - all of it seemed to have broken up. And the rocks spread out all over the bay and the beach too.
Nature at it worst!!
TFS
Janice
