A more traditional Island shot... IMO over yesterdays photograph

I have tried for the last few years to get this palm
But last year I over exposed the sand and sky. The year before I cut off the tops of the Palms... So this year taking into consideration all the tips I have learned on TL I hope I did a better job...

Thanks to Els for the tip to adjust my Exposure Comp in Aperture mode I was (well I hope) able to get the nice deep blues of the tropics...

PP work... cropped out a stone wall on the left, cloned out some blue chairs on the bottom left, adjusted sharpness and just a week of saturation.
No frame but did add my text on the bottom...

"If at first you don't succeed...try, try again." Bingo! You really got it right this time! Beautiful and well done, with that I-wanna-be-there impact. Good composition, color, clarity, light, and pp work. Most of all, it is VERY appealing:) Well done.

Wow Tricia!! Wish I was there...right now! Looks like someone "shimmies" up that tree for the coconuts! Are they (coco)nuts to do that, or what?

This is so calming and relaxing to view. I need to have it blown up "window" size and paste above my desk. How could you have a bad day at work, or anywhere, with this view?

Great blue skys and palms. I also like the effect you have on the sand of the shadow. It's awesome!

thanks for the "mini vacation" Lisa

Hi Tricia,

I have tried to find a view like this, with just the 1 palm, seems so stylish.
You did a fantastic job, you found the function after all!
I am taking a deep sigh, that is what this picture does to me, want to be there (you as well i suppose ^-^).

Great job,

Oh yes, I love these holidays in sunny tropical places. This reminds me of Fiji and Rarotonga. I wish I was there...
Typical scene that makes me yearn to go back to Fiji, etc...
Well taken Tricia, the colours are beautiful too
