[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am student of garden architecture and what was the most interesting for me in Holland was this huge flower auction. Just outside the town of Aalsmeer is this complex, established in 1928, in which more than 7 billion cut flowers (some 50% roses and 10% carnations) and over 150 million plants are sold annually. Some 80% are exported, over half of them to Germany.
The average annual value of these exports is over $3 billion.
It is opened for public and if you want to see how fast it could be, you have to come there before 7am.
I was excited. I love flowers! Can you imagine other scented heaven for the gardeners?
There are special boxes for flowers on my photography. They are like the small trains, plants are going through auction sale and in several hours could be on the way to the opposite end of the World!
