Imaginary Dutch Landscape

Again an experiment with flipping, cropping and mirroring the original image, which is posted in the WS. This time a typical Dutch landscape of the Beemster polder which is mirrored, copied and pasted in one frame. It’s like a magic island in the polder, no bridges no cattle…nothing empty!

I feel a bit like that…empty looking forward to a relaxing weekend :)

Let me know what your opinion is about this PP-experiment.

Imagination

Imagination is accepted as the innate ability and process to invent partial or complete personal realms within the mind from elements derived from sense perceptions of the shared world. The term is technically used in psychology for the process of reviving in the mind precepts of objects formerly given in sense perception. Since this use of the term conflicts with that of ordinary language, some psychologists have preferred to describe this process as "imaging" or "imagery" or to speak of it as "reproductive" as opposed to "productive" or "constructive" imagination. Imagined images are seen with the "mind's eye".

One hypothesis for the evolution of human imagination is that it allowed conscious beings to solve problems by use of mental simulation.
The world as experienced is actually an interpretation of data apparently arriving from the senses, as such it is perceived as real by contrast to most thoughts and imaginings. This difference is only one of degree and can be altered by several historic causes, namely changes to brain chemistry, hypnosis or other altered states of consciousness, meditation, many hallucinogenic drugs, and electricity applied directly to specific parts of the brain.

The difference between imagined and perceived real can be so imperceptible as to cause acute states of psychosis. Many mental illnesses can be attributed to this inability to distinguish between the sensed and the internally created worlds. Some cultures and traditions even view the apparently shared world as an illusion of the mind as with the Buddhist Maya or go to the opposite extreme and accept the imagined and dreamed realms as of equal validity to the apparently shared world as the Australian Aboriginals do with their concept of dreamtime.

Imagination, because of having freedom from external limitations, can often become a source of real pleasure and pain. A person of vivid imagination often suffers acutely from the imagined of perils besetting friends, relatives, or even strangers such as celebrities.
Imagination can also produce some symptoms of real illnesses. In some cases, they can seem so "real" that specific physical manifestations occur such as rashes and bruises appearing on the skin, as though imagination had passed into belief or the events imagined were actually in progress.

Inderdaad knap gedaan. Doe ik je nog (!) niet na.....

Hi Hans,
And that is a good thing - once in a while you have to clear your mind in order to let great and creative thoughts enter your mind---
Somehow I can manage this thought process better if I am abroad - but this way of looking at a typical dutch landscape made magic also does the trick.
:)follow and have a nice and relaxing weekend.

Hi Hans,
We cannot let emptiness install itself within us. We have the obligation of fighting against it.

I think you've created a very nice imaginary landscape from one just as beautiful! Indeed it transmits peace and harmony.

The colors are very attractive, very good sharpness and detail.

Hi Hans,
you would be a wonderful landscape-architect, it's amazing to see the effect here, realy noble - could be a garden of a castle. I think it's fun to "play" with shots in this way, I love the result, thanks and greetings

nb erg mooi groot frame hier :-)

Hello Hans

Peoples from the U.S. would imagine that this could be use as a baseball field. They would use a speedboat to go from base to base.
I see your experiment like a nice work on symmetry.

Hi Han. I like the landscape you have created using named techniques. Ideal forum on TL for this. No evidence of tampering so good techniques at work. TFS. Murray.

Hans, this is a nice imagination. Blue water canal, green grass, perfect symmetry....well done, and nice PP. :-) Vandana
