Exploding yellow

With the yesterdays posting (The weather in June) something went wrong in the PP-process and apparently the use of a SLR camera need some more practice as I thought. I received several critiques, what was wrong with that posting, thanks my friends, that’s the way I can improve my skills.

Today a more cheerful picture of a yellow dune flower. This stupid photographer has no clue what it’s name is, so suggestions are welcome. Meanwhil I received the name of this flower: Evening Primrose (thanks Janice) or in Dutch Teunisbloem (thanks Magda)

These flower were found along the road with thousands of them, together with poppies and lots of other different flowers with different colours. A pity there were disturbing road signs otherwise I would have taken a overview of these colourful view.
Took this shot while looking for shelter for the oncoming rain. You can see little rain drops on the yellow flower.

Anyway what I did in PP-work: The photo was taken in JPEG. Copied the original twice, cropped a part of one and used maximum zoom blur for the frame. The other copy I enhanced brightness (+5) and contrast (+8) and increased saturation (+15). After that cropped the main part of the image. Put a small white frame, flatten the image and pasted it into the zoom blurred copy. Than resized to 800 x 641 pixels and saved it with maximum size for TL.

Image details:
ISO: 200
Metering: Center Weighted Average
Shutter: 1/350
Aperture: f/9.5
Focal length: 36mm
Camera setting: P

Any comments are welcome!

Hi Hans, I'm pleased you don't mind honest critiques:) Some people get hurt to hear that their photos aren't right. I learnt by good, helpful critiques in TNature.

The flower is Evening Primrose. They seem to grow a flower a day - and drop off quickly. And their seeds spread all over my garden:( and your roads. . .

Good shot of the flowers - but not too sure about the framing - maybe not so wide.

Cheers
jancie

Hi Hans

Hello Hans,

Beautiful yello flower here. Not sure what settings you used, your buds are sharp and flower little unsharp. Still over all good.

Simple frame would have added more beauty to this photo. Just my opinion. Have a nice day.

A genuine idea of framing is seen here in this post. Macro imaging is excellent along with dynamic borders. Yellow over green hue is awesome. Such a fabulous picturization my friend, well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Hoi Hans,

Origineel !
