[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the dunes along the sea shore we have the Scottish Highlander the oldest registered European beef cow. There is record of this breed as far back as the twelfth century. They were grazed before the Shorthorn was even known. There is archaeological evidence of them from the sixth century, making them one of the oldest known breeds of cattle in modern history.

Ha Ruud,

Nice fresh shot. It looks like a PS assembley. When he was so close the picture should be so sharp because you must have been shaking in your shoes!
The leg are longer then the snow is deep.

Just for fun I made a WS.

All the best,
Hendrik

Hi Ruud, what an impressive cow, your photo is really nice, I love the tracks how they disappear way far in the back, that beef cow certainly is an impressive beast , how friendly are they .Interesting note. The workshop is funny also.

Christine.

Hi Ruud,

Fantastic composition! The colour of the beef cow is so vivid and it's so sharp that I can see every detail of its head and body. Great POV and DOF. Wonderful serene place.
Excellent work!
Very well done!

Hi Ruud

I like the superb color contrast between the red haired Scottish Highlander bovine & the cooler blues of the sky & snow. Excellent perspective & pov. Tfs.

Wow! "Une rencontre du troisième type!" I like much contrast chaud/froid between the fur of the cow and the whiteness of snow. The POV is very quite selected with the perspective but it was to be dangerous! Courageous photographer, the animal's horns are so near to him ! Thank's for sharing. Annie

Hi Ruud,
this is phantastic - I love this Highlander-cows so much, they look so friendly.
I have seen the first ones several years ago in Scotland - and the next ones a few kilometers away from my home. The farmer was running behind this escaping cow - we had great fun while watching ;-)
Thanks for sharing

Prachtig bruin afgtekend tegen natuurlijk wit.

Hi Ruud,
This is a superb composition, I like how this scottish highlander is so close and popping out this landscape. The colors are superb. Great photo.
Luc

Willem

Stunning photo Ruud, really love cattle. Use to farm myself. Very good capture of this beautiful animal.
