It's a good idea to shoot this photo but it's such a waste that there's this flash in the goblet.....

Hi Peter,
for me, the flash fire detracts from this.
I don't know what camera you shot this with, however if your camera has an AV setting, then I would try capture an object like this using this settting.
Open the aperture as much as possible in this case and shoot without built in flash which would give you a capture without the flash burn at the center top of the cup.
Just my 2 cents worth :)
