Bakenesserkerk & Gravestenenbrug

Easy to pronounce, just mumble the letters of the words behind each other :-)

Again a view from my hometown Haarlem. This time the old bridge (more than 800 year old) and the Bakenesser church tower at the left. Hope you like this view too. This view is about 90 degrees turned to the left from the previous posting, the point of view is the same, except that this one is taken from a far lower POV.

This bridge was posted before, but taken from a total different point of view.

PP work:
Adjusted contrast and brightness, increased saturation slightly. Selected sky and increased the cyan and blue tones. Cropped and sharpened. Add frame and text. After some comments, tried this time a much smaller frame.

Let me know what your opinion is, what do I have to improve and more important, how.. :-)

He Baron,

Did your Nikon break down, is it for sale on marktplaats or what???

Quite nice Dutch feature you've captured here. Nice to see the Martinitoren (of hoe heet dat ding in Haarlem ook al weer) in the background. The man walking the bridge gives the whole photo a bit extra.

Groeten uit Utrecht.

Edwin

PS: moet eerst de note lezen zie ik. Old habit..

Adri

Hi Hans, can't see where you can improve this image,I do prefer it to the one shown in THIS BRIDGE,I like that your close up to it & it has lots more detail & your shooting angle gives for a strong composition, question, what are the two partitions used for? I've not seen them before.TFS

Hello Hans,
Lovely light mood, crazy color gradation. Class picture, pleases me very good. Here I am correctly enthused of the crazy contrasts. Super made.
TFS.
Best regards.
Janusz

Bonsoir mon ami
how to say to a person who is strongest of the beginners that I know ;OD lolll whereas I'm what one can call an amateur who thus begins in the best direction from the term to use than I see since your change of camera while speaking about technique, very difficult. More contrast, details, colours very strong, but, yes, but, I find that that misses a little softness, but it's really what I thus feel too personal to be objective.
Me, and the technique... it's always the instinct. I hope that one will understand that it's not a criticism because I find that you use your two cameras perfectly, it's different, here all.
I like this silhouette of man who, it really seems to me, passed at the last time. he must have French blood, he has difficulties in comply with the rules :O))).
Best friendship
Bisous, Corinne

Hello my dear Hans,

This is a great shot too, like the one before, I like them... I hope I can try to build them with my clay work one of these day. It is a very impressive view of the bridge, nice composition, good details and colours. One day when I am ready to build it then I might need your help to get me a close up look of them. :P

Have a wonderful Easter my dear

Cheers,
Sweety

Hello Hans,
what a beautiful large perpective view. The house inbacground are majestic and clean . Good view and position to make this post.
Bravo mon ami King Hans. Réal from Québec Canada.

Hoi Hansie!
The names remind me of some of our streets here in Houston, you have to be a native to know how to say them! nice shot, improvement?? Do you have SUPER WIDE lens Hansie?? I would ALWAYS use a superwide for landscapes..and especially for structures and buildings, they make the whole thing so much better! That is all I can think of!

Hi Hans, your are giving that Sony a workout. I find it amazing the difference in colours between this and those taken with the Nikon. Well composed with good colour and superb detail. The frame? Because this is a close up view your larger frames would have worked. Either that or reduce the size of the first white frame in order to increase the font size. Well done,
David

Mooie gedetailleerde "oer Haarlemse" foto
Schitterend om al die verschillende bouwstijlen bij elkaar te zien.
Groeten
Cynthia

Hoi Hans,

Mooie plaat! Mooi hoe je de toren nog aan de linker kant kijkt. Mooi!!

Groeten, Dennis

I do prefer the smaller frames - the large ones make the pictures too small - IMHO!

Nicely done Hans - are you happy with this camera? My 4 year old Sony Cybershot P8 has died and I'm looking for a new 'handbag camera'.

The details here seem clear, but I think the n*k*n would take a better image. . . And a CANON even better. There seems to be small jaggies on the white areas. (I'm giving constructive criticism here on the Sony).

Cheers

Hi Hans,

I saw the similar design at old city of Jakarta (we called it Batavia), and it become a tourist interest to see the past of Jakarta . .
I attach on workshop 2 pictures of similar version of this bridge at Jakarta . .
Mostly used for pre wed photography . .
Hope you don't mind . .

It's beautifully composed . .
Great shot my friend
