[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Howdy peeps,

Once every year we have an "Open Monuments Day" that is held throughout the country.
It is the day when most monumental buildings open their doors for everyone. Any building you would like to visit you may enter and sometimes that means that you may even find yourself in someone's bedroom of all places (although that is quite extreme!).
Especially here in Hoorn, where I live there are lots of these old buildings dating from the 15th, 16th and 17th century and I must say that is't so great to see these places inside and out!
It's amazing how old these buildings are and it sometimes gives me a strange feeling to realise how much history was "made" in these buildings........

This old waterpumt is in the old yard of the boys and girls orphanage. Of course through the years the building has been restored, but the trees are still there and so is the pump.
I really liked the light that came through the trees on the windows, while it was an overcast day...

Not much work done on this; I just tried to darken the edges a bit more to emphasize the light on the facade.
Also I added a tad of yellow to the image to get a bit more warmth.

This is exactly why I love Hoorn,a city but with that pictoresque little village streets,lovely place to live Anneke!

He Annie,
Het typische plaatje van een Hollandse kastanje , hoewel slechts deels in beeld, is mede door het bijzondeere licht en tafreel prachtig neer gezet. Fijne oorspronkelijke kleuren, mooie evenwichtige compositie!

Een foto welke dit mooie hoekje erg goed uit laat komen.Het heeft ook veel sfeer.
Het kontrast perfect opgevangen.En vééls te weinig reakties.
