Path to village church

At the end of this path we will see the village church already.
Then an extra five minutes and I was in the house I grow up.
Most of the time to late for diner because I was a real outdoor boy

On a birthday party they told me that the houses in the village were I grow up will be removed and replaced by new. The village Bovenkerk was build during Korean war. They build the houses only for 7 to 10 years. After the second world war there was a shortage of houses in that area. The houses stand there now for over 54 years.
Going back to the place were I grew up. Did not find where I was looking for. Then I moved to the play grounds of that area. Yesterday was the first one today the second.

Well composed image Ruud, the mist and sunlight give a good look to it.
It would have been interesting to go visit your old home. You will have grown up a lot since then - well, I hope so:)

nice one ruud, sometimes breaking a compositional rule of not putting the main subject in the middle pays off in this case it works quite well, well done...

Hi Ruud,

You have captured a shot that bring us down your memory lane... dreamy, but story telling at one ear, music coming from the other ear, it is quite incredible. :) Love to see your old house where you grew up, this road must have bring back lots of your memory as it has many years of your foot print before. :) Thanks for sharing,

cheers,
Sweety

Hi Ruud,

Fantastic photo!!! Love the POV and DOF!! The fog and the man in the background add mystery to the composition. Great low lighting and colours! You grew up in a very beautiful place!!
Very well done and tfs

Hi Ruud,
There is a very special light creating an enchanting mood in your picture. It could belong to a fairy tale.

First impression, Ruud, was of a Spitzweg painting. The lone figure in the distant mist has a mysterious aura and seems to signify a journey towards a undetermined future, but on a firmly set path of discovery....
Cheers

A scene of expectations. Mystery created by the foginess and the light the figure seems to come from. I agree it could easily be the opening shot for a movie. It can tell different stories.

merhaba dear ruud

This looks like an oil painting, Ruud - except for the immediate foreground which is clearly a photo. Beautiful, mystical light that, combined with the compo, sets the mood...

Impressive perspective and composition. The image has a lovely mood, with the haze and the single figure at the end of the path is the special touch. Well exposed and great natural colors.

Hoi Ruud,
Erg mooie kleuren.
Groeten,
Niek
