Hi Els,

This one needs to go straight to the head quarters of Dolce & Gabbana! It's terrific!
I like the light shining through the bottle of perfume, so detailed. Also, one cannot really tell what is in the background, so it leaves much to the imagination.

I prefer this one to the one in the workshop.

I like the contrasts between the soft fluffy feathers and the hard cool glass.The red adds just enough extra colour imo.

Dat ga ik ook eens doen, zo'n mooi flesje 'pakken' met de sfeer er bij.

Such a nice smooooooooth toned picture Els! My favorite perfume is Opium..(Yves St Laurent) love it! It's the only one that doesn't make me have a headache! LOVE the sharpness here...love the feathers around it!

Wonderfully done Els. Set up is so simple and your results so elegant. I tried to envision without the red feather and I think I do prefer it with. It just adds that bit of contrast that seems to make this composition work so well. Watch the marketing company doesn’t steal your idea away.

Els, I really like the set-up picture you put in the ws section. Now I understand how you got that reflection there.
I miss some info about what light/lamps you used, and where you put them, though...
Anyway, I like this post, it's a good product shot. But imo you're right about the red feather, I find that a wee bit distracting and, especially in product photography, all attention must go to the product you need to sell.

ah you and maryline have the same taste in perfume.. i remembered commenting hers few months back.. :)

must be lovely smell.. i love perfume.. i can't go out without it.. my everyday use to the office is Hugo Boss for Women or ckone. i used to love Naked by Police too but it was discontinued.. my other perfume escada tropical punch, gucci, etc.. haha i could go on and on.. lol but this is not about me but you..

anyway i love how you present this, Els.. i tried but im not satisfied with how i arrange it.. yours is excellent.. love it..

Hello Els,

Well, this speaks glamour to me!
The feather boa, plus the the 'red' feather set the tone and then the perfume ... well! Were you trying to entice someone!!!

The shot is lovely.
The light is perfect bringing out the shine on the metal and the glass. The smooth, hard glass contrasts very well with the soft fluffiness of the feathers. The restricyed colours do suggest oppulence!

You could have done this as an ad. for the perfume! All the right suggestions are there!
(I think I've told you before that you would be a wowo at designing ads.)

This one really sets my imagination flying, " The Scent of a Woman " I won't say any more about that lol . But since it already is very good I'll be picky this time: Dolce & Gabbana will NEVER allow anything to disturb the logo however insignificant...
I'm talking about the feathers (?) of course!

Een moeilijke voor me.
Het flesje zelf vind ik prachtig belicht.
Misschien de stop aan de linker zijde iets oplichten.
De idee met de pluimpjes is goed gevonden, maar
voor mij iets te overdadig.
Rechts onder die mocht van mij weg.
( of toch niet zo uitdrukkelijk )
Hangt ook voor tekst.
Links onder, misschien raar, die zou 'k liever wit zien
en dan de grote links, die dan eens rood proberen.

Ach ... toch bedankt : altijd leuk om eens een foto tegen te komen waar je linker- en je rechterhersenhelft het oneens zijn. :-)
