Not much to say about this one... a container ship sailing past the setting sun.

I liked the way the sky is filled with that warm red.
Another view is in the ws section.

Tech talk

Pre-processing: exposure compensation -2 stops. Unusual for me, I left the white balance on auto.

Post-processing: levelled out, a very slight crop because of that, downsized for tl, framed.

No alterations on colour, saturation or brightness... It's as it came out of the camera.

superb atmosfere Frank..
the mood is completed by the pattern of the waves!! striking and warmly colours! final result is intense and strongly!! well done!
ciao Marco

Hi Frank, Stunning colours!! this is why I like to get out either early in the morning or late at night, capturing breath taking scenes like this, tfs.

Steve.

Hi Frank,
Nice sunset view, despite the dark shades, it has a classic chilling mood. Great composition with the 'inswimming' cloud. TFS,
Greetings,
Kristof

Hello Frank,
Very good capture of a tough lighting condition. The sky is such and amazing red!
The workshop image is, for me, very close to better than this one-other than the railing--but the ship and sun are more dominant here, and that's not a bad thing.
Did you find the polarizer to be very helpful/effective with this sky?
Good work,
TFS,
Wilt

un couché de soleil pas mal intéressant! J'aime bien le rouge/orange qui ressort du soleil avec un environnement très sombre. Bravo!

Hey Frank, how are ya...Hope your well.

Nice capture... but I think I would have cropped off the bottom half of the pic and made it a panaroma..as alot of dark nothingness there...just my thoughts.

Im back from my big Overseas Adventure!

Kind regards
Dawn.

merhaba dear frank
excellent atmosphere and sunset.excellent colours and sun.well done.
best regards.
gürkan akçakır.

An excellent mood created Frank. Just enough shine on the water to break up teh darkness and the colours in the sky bold and clear. Neat choice of setting, well done,
David

Lovely sun set here. Beautiful Red tones.

;-)

TFS
Groetjes
Jan

What a dark night this is Frank. But the red colours still glow out well and I especially like the reflections on the water too.
Well captured

Hi Frank,
I dream to take a dark and warm sunset like this one!
21.54 H, it is late, here the sun is disappeared since one hour at least.
I should try the "exposure compensation -2 stops" to obtain a so great intensity of colors! I like the subtle ray on the sea.
Really dramatically beautiful! Annie

:) Tomorrow

Hi Frank,

I like the subtle pathway of glittering last sunlight on the waves, but I still think the picture is a tiny bit too dark on my screen at the right side.
So I decided on making an over-the-top bright WS - just to have fun - see if you hate it or maybe like it a bit...

Els

Amazing sunset. I love the forms and the red color of the clouds. What I like in the original version is to see the size of the people that look so small in front of that magnificent view. But I can see the sky better in this photo. TFS
