Walking along a charming canal in the middle of the afternoon, we noticed an old bike, standing there, in line with his peers, along the water, peacefully watching the swans and ducks sailing in the below water.
Due to the strong storm and windy weather the day and night before, many bikes had fallen on the ground. But not this one, still standing in all its glory. I have no idea whether it is still mounted, whether its owner is still alive. But it clearly was the best looking bike in all Delft !
Nous marchions le long d'un de ces charmants canaux à Delft, lors d'une promenade matinale, lorsque nous remarquâmes ce vieux vélo, debout, aligné avec ses pairs le long de l'eau, surveillant tranquillement les cygnes et canards qui naviguaient en contrebas.
Nombreux étaient les vélos à terre ce jour là, à cause de la tempête et des vents violents qui avaient sévi la veille. Mais pas celui-ci, qui se tenait toujours bien droit, dans toute sa fierté. Je ne saurais vous dire s'il lui arrive encore d'être monté, si son propriétaire est toujours de ce monde, mais c'était de loin le plus beau vélo de tout Delft !
