[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This scene is in the center of Delft, the central market square with some souvenir shops.
1\
I was practising with my new Canon lens the L series 24-105 IS USM AS and to give yo an idea about the sharpness pleasse see the WS .. where I placed an enlargement of the little shop on corner.
2\
The lantern was buggung me for some time and the reason why I did not post this photo..
But Folks .. the latern (old itself) is a fact.. its part of the square with many others.

So still hope you like it

Thanks and bye

John !

Hi John,
I like it, the place is beautiful and Delft is such a pretty town. I were so interested to visit the potteries there it was amazing - and we were the only visiters - we were there in January, almost no tourists - exept us ;-)
Thanks and greetings
Sabine - wishnugaruda

Hallo John,

Hi John,
I am presuming that this is one of the 'older buildings' in town, the blue sku with clouds is in your favor to give this image so much of color and depth...
The lens looks really sharp ( I have a 28-135 IS USM and I really like it.
excellent handle on sunlits and shades...
Do I like the border? Hmm...I think I am getting used to those on here:)
Regards
David

Hallo John.
Leuk hoekje in ons toeristisch Delft. Vooral de huisjes spreken mij aan.
Mooie opname en een erg goede compositie.

Beetje overbelicht, John.

Hello John !

Interesting shop , architecture and camouflage ! Looking at the air conditioning units painted the same was as the wall sign. The funny chair reminding me a chair designed by Franquin for the office of Gaston Lagaffe years ago. Like also this trompe l'oeil making two houses with one , just altering the front colors of the wall.

I humbly propose you a little WS to straightened the tall lamp post (^_^). I hope you won't mind.

Cheers!
Robert

I don't know why the lantern is bugging you, John! If I was looking for a pov there, I would have looked to include it in about the same spot you did. It somehow ties the foreground to the architecture and adds an interesting element as well as depth and perspective.

Cheers

Love your proverb John!!!!

But I guess that's not what TL is about.

About the lantern... the silly thing is there and you cannot change that. Cloning it away would be.... silly, simply because it's part of the square, part of it's history and culture.

Now... about the facade: is that realy two in one? It looks a bit odd, though I'm sure it's for real...

Anyway, it's another nice entry here of something typical Dutch. Nice composition and colors as usual.
What I particularly like is the reflections in the windows, showing the facades on the other side of the square! Well done!

Cheers,
Anneke

hhshshshs*t out of :) back tomorrow!

John, another wonderful photo from Delft. Lovely architecture shot, and that lantern is perfect in this shot with context.

seems good results from your new lens. Did saw WS, sharp and clear. :-) Vandana

A good photo & great workshop on it John! I like the perspective change the best & the close up is great! Don

Hi John,

A beautiful traditional Dutch building, captured nicely, with very good detail, colors and sharpness.
I hope all is well my good friend,
Greetings,
Vassilis

I love the typically Dutch colours John and the architecture. Both shots well captured and some sceenes are so difficult to get all the perpectives correct. TFS,
Dave

Hi John

Very nice POV and sometime there is nothing we can do with the accessories around the site. Lanterns do exist and were happy to have them at night.
The image is very sharp and colourful.

Hi John,

What can I say but we both have sharp lenses! (^_^) Great colours, POV & lighting. I like the WS too!

Hi John,
And you did not want to share this photo with us? Shame on you (*_^)
Great POV, colors and sharpness. As you are saying, the lantern is part of the square. Superbly well done. TFS
Greetings my friend

Tfs

Altijd lekker werken John, vanaf de thuisbases'' :-) Gr

Hi John,
I like it and I remember this shop and this town (Delft is beautiful and very pretty town). Nice composition and colors as usual.

Good work
Alex

Hi John,
Prachtig.

Die lantaarns doen me denken aan
enkele gelijkaardige te zien in Brugge
Vroeger werden ze als gaslantaarns
gebruikt.

Hi bro, Cute houses of Delft. Very well captured. Lovely colours. I like also the beautiful blue reflections in your other photo in the ws.
Is it reflections or is it painted?
Great work! Sis :)

Good morning Ioanni.-:)
The house looks nice-looks great.
It has nice scharpness and good contrast with the sky.
Finaly, it is good composed also with the latern.
Cheers
Evan

I remember this place. In fact, I went inside that Royal Delftware store. :) Thanks for bringing back good memories and sharing this well composed shot, Uncle John.

Very nice and sharp picture, John. The clouds and sky above, finished it.
Always nice to see Delft. A nice village between Tha Hague and Rotterdam.
Maybe it's nice to go there with some other TL-ers.

Groetjes ook aan JO en prettig weekend,

Don

knap huisie :-)

Beautiful compo and vivid colors, very nice architecture. I like the narrow framing. Great light and shadows.
