[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After all that white in my previous posts, I thought it was time for some other colour... and it turned out to be green ;o).

I caught this Great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus) in Delft where we met up with John, Yolanda, Vassilis, Tanya and Vandana. I liked how it manoeuvred through the duckweed (Lemna minor), which imo makes a nice backdrop.

Sorry Frank,

Hi Frank
Good interesting shot of the grebe in it's soup of weel. the colors are natural and the light is ok. The point of view is good but the crop is a bit tight in my opinion. I would have kept more space to the left, in front of the bird. It's still a good photo though.
Thanks
Serge

Hij is mooi, zo drijvend in het kroos.
Maar het mooiste is toch wel dat beetje groene kroos dat aan zijn veertjes is blijven plakken!
Heel mooi en heel groen Frank.

A very true shot.. sometimes our little canals are letterly
smotthered by these little green plants.
I had 3 dogs in my life Frankl, Linda German Sheppard, Jock
a black and tan Doberman.. and the smartests off all.. Grumpy.. a long haired Dachshund! (Tekkel)
Frank.. when he was about 6 months I walked him one day and coming close to a little sort off canal.. Grumpy spotted a simular bird like we see here.
The bird was, in his untrained opinion, just waiting for him to be plucked off the carpet! ( it looked like a carpet)..So Grumpy jumped on --oops: in the carpet , to go all under!! and came up with this 'duckweed' on his noose and head..If you would have seen his expression...there is only a Dutch word for that: He looked ''lullig' Frank .. even now writing this I am still a trembling mountain of laughter , NEVER I forget this golden moment.

Where is that leaving you and you photo? Excellent ! Just great! It is 99% reality what we see here!
Groetjes
John

Did you read about a possible TL meet in July in Quebec
Quebec 400 years !?!?

Hello Frank,
Actually I like this.
The green in water really looks like a carpet.
Nice focus and details. TFS

I really thought it was grass until a closer look. Nice green and lovely bird.

Well done.
