Still in Johannes Vermeer's Delft !
City Inn ''The Mole'' in Dutch 'De Mol'
Build before 1500 !
*********
In the 16th century this building was used as the Orphanage. The house was owned by the 'Holy Spirit', the ´Heilige Geest´, an institute for the care of the poor and the ill. It was one of the few buildings to survive the great fire of 1536. Originally the house continued to the Burgwal and was more than 70 metres long. In 1978 it became the stadsherberg, the inn, 'De Mol'.
Keep in mind that this was part of Jahannes Vermeer's daily life .. he knew this place !

Gaaf man al die bloemen, kan niet op de naam komen, in het water. Maakt de compositie compleet met de boom en de andere tinten groen in de foto.

WATERLELIES!

Deze is een van mijn favorite!!!!
prachtig!!!!
de kleuren, alles....

Lovely capture of this classic building, with a very interesting history. Nicely composed, very natural colors and well balanced lighting. Thank you for showing us these lovely landmarks!
Bravo!
Vassilis

Beautiful John, the greens in this picture come to life. The sharpness of the pic is also very good and you note says it all :) well done.."hasta la proxima foto"...martha

Hi John, a very nice typical Delft photo, no modern items, no modern waste in the water. I would have loved to see the mainroad still in the original "kinderkoppies" bricks, the view would be so much different.

See you again, Richard

I love your Street of Water!! So unusual to see and so different from NZ. And what a beaut display of waterlilies it must have! John, did yoou photograph any of the lilies? And this is over 500 years old! What history and stories it could tell. And NO BLUE to be seen either.
Maybe I prefer the original version seeing all of the building, but that's me. Still it's a good shot John, thank you.

I go and see !

Ah Delft... I spent some nice time here last weekend on my business trip. This photo really brings back the mood! So many bricks around, and so much green water :) Great photo!
I hope I will post some Delft photos here soon, I hope you will find them interesting and place them on your "Delft list", together with Tintin ;) No obligations, please.

Very good postcard, thanks for sharing it with us! Your photos showed me the beauty of Delft even before my visit here, thanks!
Regards
Robert

great comp, interesting, next time I visit my son in Holland, let's have a drink there... M (*_*)

I like your use of the green to bring color into the frame. The historical aspect of the photo really gives it life. Nice capture!

Hi John
Nogsteeds so groen! Die skerpte van die prent is perfek... Ek was bietjie stil die laaste paar dae. Ek het bietjie slaap opgevang. Kyk my prent en jy sal verstaan.
Die kinderhuis lyk dan soos 'n tronk?
Goeie foto...

PS: ek is vandag lus vir die Afrikaans... soos al die wat net Frans praat...

Oh Mr John... No need to mention my stupidity... As I said, the camera was around my neck and when I took it off I snapped a couple. Then I went rushing... If I have to do it again, I would rush much faster. And then snap pics afterwards... Thanks for your mention. I appreciate
And now that I edit this, my smileys are up...

Hi John,

This becomes a great serie of John Vanaarle"s Delft!
I think it is very interesting for the viewers.
But uhh, what happened with the sharness?

Now you only can have a drink out of the canal,so cross the bridge when you are there. But and don't hop in at every Inn my friend.

Hendrik

A special note of my wife Corry: I have allready years my own computer or use the ones from the kids!

There is a lot to tell about this picture. It has details that are interesting enough for single pictures.
I think it's good as it is. Personally I would have cropped the water out and put the picture more in front and upright.
But as a whole it's good enough; the tree helps in giving some perspective and colour to it.
Thanks John

Weer een mooi plaatje John. Ziet er goed uit. Goede pov. Toppie.

Hi John, this is a lovely photo Vermeer's Delft. Nice pov of the building with the tree on the right. And the waterlilies in what must be a canal.

Very well done. Take care, Yan

Weer een Delft en weer weet ik waar het is.
Mooi scherp en goede belichting.
Groet
Rob
