[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
From 4th of October till 22nd of November, I had a photography course with FotoClub Klik in Delft, near The Hague.

This was an analogue course, though with a roll of film. An Agfapan b/w film. So my Canon EOS 300 was after a while out of the closet.

With the course we had to carried out an order, and must take different kind of pictures; portrait, sights on Delft, street furniture like latterns, benches etcetera. After that we process the film and printed the picture self. I liked that very much; the whole picture from beginning till end by your self.

The real pictures are very sharp, but the scanner I used is a little bit old and the scanned pictures are not that good and sharp as the real ones. But I hope you like the pictures. The next two weeks I will post them on TL.

Best regards,

Don

Hello Don
I like the quality of the buildings on the left side but things are rather dark on right side. A little on the contrasty side. You really should treat yourself to a new scanner!!! You can achieve very good results with a low priced scanner
Happy shooting
Barry

Hello Don,
Despite your comments i think you managed a good conversion and the shot itself must have been pretty good. I think you lost some details on the right side of the bank which looks like an array of cars. Anyway nice shot, see you around.

Hi Don

Good lighting tonal range & pov. The foreground railing & curving canal add depth. Congratulations!

Wonderful work Don :) I know that a lot is loft with scanners but even with this problem here we can see a great shot! Bravo!
José

Beautiful B&W photo Don and a nice composition...my compliments.

Jos

Beetje somber maar ook ik ben geen zwart wit man
Hoewel een fotoman een allrounder moet zijn
De moeite heb je genomen Don en dat is ook belangrijk.
Groet
Rob

Hi Don, dus ging 'back to basics' - zal wel zeer leerrijk geweest zijn !

Zoals je weet, ben ik een grote fan van z/w. De rechterkant van je foto is een beetje donker, maar dat stoort mij niet echt.

Marleen

heel mooie zwart wit foto knap werk de kader is ook heel passend!

beautifull picture!!!! very well done, i like the fence in foreground!

Hi Don,

Very nice B&W. Good POV, and nice presentation. I also like the strong contrasts between left and right side. imo it makes a very intersting image

Well done!

take care, Stef :))

Hi Don,
Nice composition taken from a good angle. B&W well chosen.
Best regards,
José

Hello Don, you did a good composition on the canal and pov. Also, its a nice Bw photo with high contrasts. I does look like an old photo.

les contrastes des batiments et de l'eau sont bien équilibrés. tres joli noir et blanc

Hi Don,
Beautiful composition! I like the perspective here, including the railing up front is a masterpiece... Your contrasty B&W work fine with me...

Hi Don, nice captured. I like the POV and the B&W color is a perfect choice. Well done.

Beautiful shot Don, great use of black and white. Nicley composed, like the way you have almost managed to hide the row of cars.

Peter

Nice B&W, Don, with an interesting composition. I am not certain if I like the railing taking so much space in the foreground. Maybe it would have been better taking a higher view to focus on the beautiful house of Delft. I like the high contrast because it hides the car on the right side. Well done!

I love Delft, it is my favorite town in the Netherlands, so I will definitely be on a look out of your other pictures. :)

I like the unusual composition of this photograph that catches attention. It seems to me that the bottom right corner is a little too dark. Perhaps, removing some of the tree branches from the top would have made the picture cleaner, but it is personal preference.

Look forward to more pictures. :)

Katya

very nice capture in b/w , right side a bit dark but this brings out the nice buildings on the left.
Christine.

What an interesting course you had Don - sounds great. But I think I would find it so hard going back to a film camera. I don't know what to do with my 2 old cameras now.

Great view and I do like it in BW. I find it so interesting seeing houses built right on the water. How did they build them like that?
Well done, thank you.
