Hi Josine, well you did very well with your first b/w photo. It is very well contrasted and the tones are nice. The light is well controlled. And you did well with the mirror effect. I like the oval it makes in the middle.

As you and others know I am no fan of b-w but that is not important, I am a fan of a good photo and that this is!
Well seen in real and doing PP on it.

Nice little experiment Josine. The selection of b/w is good for this starkly geometric compo. In fact: turn the shot and stitch it together for even better effect.

I like this and I think the B&W makes the repitition more powerful. I always look for something that is different from the obvious and here I like the two "eyes" in the middle as if they are keeping watch.

A very nice graphic b&w shot Josine. The repetition of the cylinders looks good and the shapes formed are attractive. I think the lighting and focus are also very good here. It works very well in black and white. Well done on your first try.

Hoi Josine,
Zo op het oog niets aan de hand met deze foto. Mooie B&W compositie. Tot ik de foto beter bekeek en zag aan de doorsnede van de betonnen buizen (ze zijn ovaal)dat "het niet klopte" . In je tekst schrijf je dat het een gespiegelde afbeelding is, maar als je het het zaakje "doormidden knipt" klopt het nog niet. Dat maakt me razend nieuwsgierig. How can?
Neemt niet weg dat je voor deze bijzondere inzending hartelijk wordt bedankt. Zie mijn WS voor het "doorknip" resultaat.

Don't know about being a fan of B/W or not,just know that some photo's are best presented in B/W. This would be the one in your album then.

Hello Josine, where have you been? I have been busy this summer but missed you in TL. Very good B&W, the mirror worked well with this for a great photo. You talked about getting a new camera. If you haven't yet I really like my Olympus E410. I have small hands & fits me well so would be a good ladys camera. It comes with two lenses & here it is about $300 to $400 cheaper than a comparible Canon. Hope you are doing well!! :} Don

I'd been wanting to let you know that I appreciate this shot, but somehow hadn't been able to pull it up. The problem seems to be solved.
Good repetition and subject for B&W treatment, and the smoothness of these tubes is evident.
