Hoi Niek,
Prachtig plaatje van dit tolhuis. De sepia toon maakt het helmaal des 1837's. Het geelige frame maakt het helemaal af. Voor wat betreft de inflatie; dat valt nog al mee, of heffen ze nog steeds tol in Almelo? ;)

Niek,
I guess I would consider a sepia image a color image because although it contains mainly two colors...primarily brown and white tonal ranges, black isn't one of them. That's just my take on it. I have been wrong before!
This image, other than the checkered gate arm, reminds me of the place where I once lived as a child. I like the road, how it leads the eye into the photograph. Glad to hear the weather has changed for the better, I expect to see some more great photo's in the coming days.

Excellent sepia tones! I really like the composition but would prefer the left side cropped slightly looser to see the full width of the road where the road bar is.

Dat sepia geeft dit tolhuisje een heel nostalgisch uiterlijk, ik vind het erg mooi. Het geeft een gevoel van vervlogen tijden. Wat betreft die prijzen, die zijn ook uit lang vervlogen tijden :-)
Maar dit is een topfoto, heel mooi gedaan!

Nice presentation in monochrome along with sepia. Granular effect is giving an impression of composition on luster paper. An excellent point of view and an interesting subject. Well done.

Re your question, I think B&W is just a way of saying monochrome and sepia is essentially monochrome (indeed I did categorise a sepia tone photo as B&W on TL).

As for you photo is is quite interesting. The sepia tone makes it ambiguous as to whether this may have been taken by our grandparent's generation or only last month. This I think adds to the charm. Nice composition but I kind of think it would be nice to have seen what's behind the big tree.
