So, if one year is one tree, I wish you a lot of trees on TL :)
Nice contribution to all those, from whom you learned. And there is a hope that those who have learned will deliver knowledge to the new ones as well.
What can I say about the photo - I like the colours and the contrast very much.

But what is most striking is your note: [..When I joined I knew little to nothing about photography. I was just one of those happy snappers with almost no feel for composition...] I hardly can believe this :) Your photo's are just great I can't imagine you would post a picture with any 'failures'. Your portfolio is impressive and your comments are alway honest and concrete. You are one of the truley TL-members and feel hapy wen comming by. first off congrats on you 1rst year on TL, I been following your journey throughout the year and truly enjoyr looking at your photos. I learned a lot from you and am always amazed about the wonderful landscape photos you showing us.
This is another beauty, the solitaer tree in all its glory. Love the colors and the great textures. POV, details and sharpness are so great.

Many thanks for your comment on ' Summer Fog II’. A swimming hole it is Niek. the rocks hold back the water to form a small pool. At this time of the year the water is fairly shallow.

You have certainly shown us wonderful picture over that year and I amazed to learn that you did not know much about photography when you started as you certainly do now. The classic composition with the lonely tree comes out very well as a symbol of your first year in TL..! If you've had as much fun as I did I know you're pretty happy...
But the first 12 months is not the goal but only a milestone along a lasting journey...

Hi Niek,
Congratulations! You have really embraced photography and continue to improve and master it. You don't just post snapshots, you work at your craft and try to master the light with the right compositions. Beautiful shot here. The subtle colors of the winter season in the vegetation are offset by the brilliant blue sky.

Hey, van harte gefeliciteerd met je 1-jarig jubileum hier op TL en ik hoop dat je nog heel lang doorgaat. Het is altijd leuk om je foto's te bekijken en ze mogen er echt wezen :-)
Maar even zonder gekheid, dit is ook weer een prachtfoto, 1 boom tegen een strakblauwe lucht, heel scherp en mooi.
