[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
...of a lovely, sunny day. After which weather has been quite wet, I'm afraid :-(. Until today. Today's beautiful weather inspired me to choose this shot for TL ;o).

I'm quite fond of sunsets, though I don't post them very often. Anyway, I checked the last few pages of my gallery first.

Tech talk

Converted from raw.
Exposure compensation -1/3rd stop.
White balance: cloudy.
Downsized for TL in 2 steps, USM 80 %, 0.3, 0.

Nothing else was altered; colours & framing are what the sensor captured. I love it when that happens ;o).

Now is your horizon straight Frank ?? :-)

Good capture of the sunset or it could even be a sunrise... looks like one from my lounge window...:-)

I like the glistening gold from the sun on the water, and the boat on the left just makes it.. well done, nice photo.

Cheers Dawn.

Hi Frank,

Als een staart-komeet die uit het
water opstijgt..;
En wat een spiegeling op het water!

Hi Frank
A pure sunset over the sea. The solitary boat is a little small but does add to the shot. Very good colours in the sky and sea. Well done.
Mike

Hi Frank,

Nicely captured and well done on the composition. beautiful colors.
One thing I hate about digital, is the bloody banding. happens to me also, it p!#$s me off. Sorry, nothing against your image, plus, I'm p.od anyway.
Cheers

Mike

Sin duda es un bello final de un día.

Hello Frank,
This is a very beautiful sunset, well balanced with the sun and the boat on each side and this very long reflection of the sun of the textured water.
Greetings.
Luc

Frank, a beautiful sunset, really a perfect end. nice colours and contrast. TFS

rintile

Hi Frank,

I think you should post them more often!! This is really beautiful!! It has a great romantic mood! I think it would fit as a Valentine's photo too... :))
Wonderful colours and lighting!!

Very well done and TFS
Constantinos

Hello Frank,
Beautiful sunset, very interesting composition, giving more space to the sun's reflection in the sea. The golden hues are very lovely and the ship included in your composition a nice touch!
Greetings,
Vassilis

Very good sunset. I like the vertical composition. The colours are lovely. Nice to see a small ship in the distance.

Hi Frank, this is one of the better sunset/sunrise shots I've seen since you chose a noncentered look for the sun and made excellent use of the 'thirds' rule in horizon placement. The fg has excellent focus and rippled effect. TFS.

What a brilliant golden glow. The colours and tones are really super Frank. Well composed, and the reflection lights on the water shine brightly bringing the day to (as you said) the perfect end...
Very well cone and TFS
Janice

The vertical line combined with the horisontal line creates a good composition and there is enough details in the waves to break the dead space. I think this is a very good capture

Mooi Frank,

Please explain to me why people avoid sunsets! They're beautiful, warm and so sweet... why avoid them? The sun sets over my neighbour's house, which is probably the only reason I avoid them... but I have gone so far as to climb onto the roof... then realized the camera had no batteries. :|

Haha, yes, anyways. Nice composition Frank, and the light dances nicely upon the slight ripples across the water. A golden sky, and a ship tottering by... I like the hazy(ness) of the whole image, very serene and pleasant. Well done, very well done. Please don't avoid sunsets, I dearly love them... such a nice gift from Mother Earth!

Biance.

The very warm mood in stretched reflection are strong points in this compo. Luckily the air was slear enough to show the Belgian coast in the distance.
TFS Frank.

Hi there!
A lovely sunset shot!
I like the warm, inviting colours. Also, I think your composition is spot-on. The boat adds a nice little touch! The long streak of reflective sunlight is also perfectly captured, and really leads the eye towards the sun in the distance.
Well done!

Hello Frank,
whenever I was a guest in Netherlands I was so lucky to see at least one beautiful sunset. They are what I always remember because at that time of day I've met the most interesting people in my life and learned information about friends I knew for years. For me the sunset is a very special time of day.
So by looking through your gallery I had to stop at this shot although there are so many other good shots, too. You can be sure I will be back again to have a more closer look on many other shots of you, too.
This one here is great, the colours are strong and the ship gives me a feeling for the distance. I like best the colour of the see right at the bottom of your shot, there it is so dark golden that it is just wonderful.
I wonder what the calmer area in the middle of this picture is caused by? Did a ship or boat just pass by?
Al those ripples on the water's surface make the whole image vivid.
You did a great job here.
Thank you so much for sharing.
With best regards,
Britta
