[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was another one taken on my recent day trip to the amazing Keukenhof Gardens outside Lisse.

I couldnt take my Nikon D80 on the trip, and decided to make do with a Canon Powershot A640. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of shots produced by this little compact camera. The feauture I most enjoyed was the Macro setting, and this setting really showed its worth at Keukenhof.

This specific flower was in one of the indoor exhibition areas in the Gardens. I just couldnt resist trying to get a nice shot of this fantastic flower's insides...

Let me know what you think!

Hi Niel
Well done, I do like the pattern of the flower, and you cropped it well to keep the viewer's attention at the detail of the flower.
Nice and sharp.

Ha ha, interesting title to your picture! I agree, this is a serious close up, and I like it. Nice, in your face pictures of flowers always seem to work well. This picture, however is quite unique in the sense that you want to focus attention on the centre of the flower as well as on the petals, because they are both quite interesting. By having enough depth of field here and just adding enough of both you have created a very nice, seriously close (!) picture. Well done!

Lovely closeup shot - sharp details and beautiful colours.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

hi niel, excellent macro, i like the clarity, colors shapes and design. it looks like its exploding, i like the composition with the centre of the flower in the centre of the image. it usually doesn't work but here it really does, cheers, scott

A very nice close up. Some friend of mine used the same gear with reverse lens to shot a macro..

Hello Niel, good effect here. I like the colours and the concentric ring of deep red is good. Nice close up, well done.

Hi Niel,
This one is beautiful!!! And you did a seriously good job because a macro this sharp is hard to find! The flower almost jumps out of my screen. Maybe you could frame it for a more special effect?
